e are delighted to introduce Handy Contacts to our readers and advertisers. This is a handy tool for our readers to find local tradespeople whilst on the go. Handy Contacts is illustrated here in phone format and will carry the contact details of our home, garden, car and pet care advertisers that generally live at the back of each Local Life magazine. There will be three different listings formats - Standard, Enhanced and Premium - and all Local Life magazine advertisers of this type will receive a FREE Standard listing for as long as they advertise in our magazines each month. Upgrading from a Standard listing to an Enhanced listing (shown here) is just £48 + VAT a year. Handy Contacts will be published from our August magazine.

oes your company do your bit for the local community or charities? Then share your charitable exploits with us (and your pictures too) and we’ll try and squeeze them in the magazines or promote them via social media. We help several groups, but most notable is our support of Wigan Rotary Club. We print leaflets for them free of charge and have helped staff their Santa Floats for the past four years – see picture on the left. Come on, don’t be shy, share your stuff and we’ll help you tell the world!

ur West Lancs title will radically change as from September. Not only does it grow in size from A5 to B5 (as per illustration), but the distribution area will expand from just West Lancashire to an area that includes West Lancashire, Southport, Formby, Maghull and Skelmersdale.

The new West Lancs & Coast magazine will be placed every month in most of the supermarkets in the area, plus selected garden centres, farm shops, convenience stores, village halls and other outlets. Every copy of the magazine that is picked up, will be picked up by discerning residents consciously deciding to read the magazine. The paper we print on will be upgraded and the extra space in the increased size of the magazine will be used by our designers to create more of a lifestyle feel without losing the local essence of the magazine. We estimate the initial print run to be 10,000-12,000 per month and a
sized LocalLife full outlet list will shortly be published permanently in each magazine, on our web site and will also be promoted via social media. For the first twelve months, leftover copies will be sampled via letterboxes in selected areas to improve awareness of Local Life. Our rates to existing and previous customers will not increase for the first 6 months, so if you are interested in promoting your company in this area then do give us a call today. his year has seen an upswing in our popular leaflet distribution service. When it comes to making an immediate impact it’s difficult to beat something tangible coming through your letter box. We deliver a maximum of four leaflets with each Local Life in Wigan, St Helens and Chorley and are often booked to full capacity. And although we deliver leaflets for large organisations like GreenThumb and well-known local companies such as DW Stadium, leaflets are also suitable for smaller companies or organisations (such as nurseries and primary schools) with tight catchment areas.

e recently celebrated our 11th birthday at Local Life! Launched in 2008 by Chris, joined later in the year by Sally, Nicola was our first ‘proper’ company recruit in 2010 and Lisa followed in 2013.
