Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide and is also the 2 nd leading cause of cancer deaths in women. In foreign countries, the cancer was usually diagnosed in women over the age of 50. Now in India, women are being diagnosed with breast cancer even at the early age of 40 and less.
Surgery is one of the most successful treatment methods for breast cancer. In a modified radical mastectomy, the whole breast is removed by the oncology surgeons along with the lymph nodes in the armpits. However, one disadvantage of the surgery is that after the surgery, the patient undergoes various psychological problems both in her social and family life.
Hence for early stages of breast cancer, an alternative method is recommended. Instead of fully removing the breast, for people with early-stage breast cancer, it was found effective to remove only the tumour. Along with this, advanced chemotherapy and radiation techniques provide impressive results for curing breast cancer.
