of Truth: The Muwekma Ohlone's Fight for Federal Recognition and Justice

For many NativeAmerican tribes, the quest for federal recognition represents the beginning of a journey that will, it is hoped, end in correcting the injustice and suffering these tribes have had to endure in the past and present, at the hands of both the federal, state governments, and other entities.
Many tribes have been denied this recognition and are suffering because they do not have the equal rights accorded to, and protection that this status would provide them.
One tribe, the Muwekma Ohlone, embarked on the Trail of Truth to draw attention to the continuing injustices that Native Americans continue to face.
