Mid-2024 New visitor guide release A collaborative destination marketing initiative by:
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters in our region, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Visitors love the Murrumbidgee Trails — we bet they’d love your business too!
About Murrumbidgee Trails A collaboration between Leeton Shire Council, Lockhart Shire Council, Murrumbidgee Council and Narrandera Shire Council, Murrumbidgee Trails is a consumer-focused brand to promote our four local government areas as a single destination.
Join forces with us and encourage more visitors to experience the region.
You’re invited to join us as a tourism partner and see your business benefit from our combined marketing reach. Our region encompasses tourism drawcards like the Lake Talbot Water Park, Whitton Malt House and Altina Wildlife Park, through to incredible nature-based attractions like The Rock Nature Reserve – Kengal Aboriginal Place and Fivebough Wetlands. There’s also plenty of local produce, a diverse calendar of events and unique art and culture to soak in along the way.
By banding together and pooling resources, we benefit from greater exposure and awareness for our individual council areas — and local businesses — along with the potential for visitors to stay longer and spend more as they can see higher value in the region’s tourism offering.
Our goals 1.
2.
Disperse overnight visitors across the council areas to nearby towns and villages for a complete visitor experience
Increase the number of overnight visitors, visitor spend and length of stay throughout the year in the region
MURRUMBIDGEE TRAILS VISITOR STAY AND SPEND1 Domestic day visitors spend $164 per trip
Domestic overnight visitors spend $191 per night
Domestic overnight visitors stay an average of 2.75 nights
Achievements Since launching Murrumbidgee Trails with the release of our first visitor guide three years ago, we’ve been through varying stages of lockdowns and seen plenty of event cancellations.
