We are an excellent Christian Liberawl Arts institution, with a mission to prepare students for lives of character and service in their chosen field. Our team motto is EMAP, which stands for “Every Man a Panther.” We have it painted in our office and on the storage trailer facing our practice fields; we even have it printed

To be a Panther implies many things...commitment, brotherhood, love, humility, relentlessness, and character to name a few. To be a Panther is to be a man who strives to be his best self, who is being completed, who is constantly moving from good to great. EMAP Football is about producing championship people. This is an athlete who applies all of his heart, mind and body in four major areas of life - his academic, social, spiritual and athletic endeavors.
It is evident that something really good is going on at EMAP Football. You can sense it in the air and see it in the eyes of each Panther (players, coaches, staff and families). Now it is time to make it happen. Again, let me thank you for being with us today and for being a part of EMAP Football.

True CHAMPIONS are made, not born. CHAMPIONS are made in adversity. Bad days, problems, heartaches, and losses are all necessary elements in molding CHAMPIONS. - Character is built in the storm. It is not built in prosperity; it is built in adversity. You develop strength when you are in trouble. Learning to handle opposition rightly will make you a CHAMPION. - CHAMPIONS don’t let their circumstances affect their character. Bad games, bad plays, bad breaks do not change their will to prepare, their will to strive and fight for excellence every chance they get....... everyday........ all day long. - CHAMPIONS will inspire their teammates to play harder, more intensely, by their example. They walk their talk. - CHAMPIONS are interested in learning all they can, mastering skills and responsibilities, acquiring every characteristic that helps them gain the edge. - A CHAMPION is not an individual star necessarily - but a team player who knows how to function with others. - A CHAMPION lives above pressure but thrives on it. - A CHAMPION is willing to pay the price - whatever it takes! - A CHAMPION is single-minded in purpose. - A CHAMPION is not sidetracked by distractions or by things that do not help them reach their goals. - A CHAMPION knows that winning is a by-product of being committed to excellence - winning takes care of itself. - A CHAMPION lets nothing interfere with their priority - becoming the best they possibly can become. - CHAMPIONS hang around other CHAMPIONS because they want to be influenced by each other’s character. Nothing hinders them from their goal. - CHAMPIONS love competition - the challenge of becoming more disciplined, more intense, more prepared. They realize the harder the battle is, the greater the adversity - the stronger they’ll become and the quicker they’ll achieve their goals. - CHAMPIONS relish the battle. They are driven to excel. - CHAMPIONS are never satisfied with their performance, but are always content with the fact that they are continually striving to get better. - CHAMPIONS are uncomfortable with imperfection - always pursuing perfection, while knowing it can never fully be reached, but loving the battle of trying to reach it. They Fight For Excellence! - CHAMPIONS are committed to Excellence...always...only. - THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHAMPIONS AND EVERYONE ELSE IS VERY SIMPLE. CHAMPIONS ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO DO THE “LITTLE THINGS.” THAT’S THE SIMPLE DIFFERENCE. - Being a CHAMPION has nothing to do with being #1, or the amount of playing time a person gets. In fact, being a CHAMPION is not exclusively a characteristic of athletes - there are CHAMPIONS in all facets of life: students can become CHAMPIONS, parents also...anyone can! We’re talking about character, not winning and losing - CHAMPIONSHIP CHARACTER! - CHAMPIONS don’t care whether there are 5 or 50,000 people at the game...or even if it’s a game or practice. They only know that each and every situation is a chance, a chance to improve. - CHAMPIONS are not affected by scoreboards or team records. Whether the score is 50-0 or 0-50, whether their record is 0-10 or 10-0, they play the same and they practice the same - All Out! - CHAMPIONS never worry about things they can’t control, they realize they can only control themselves and their attitude. - CHAMPIONS never quit. They don’t even know what the word “quit” means. They only know to keep working, to keep striving...regardless of circumstances. - CHAMPIONS know that to be a CHAMPION they must be committed to excellence in everything they do, in every situation - whether at home, at school, at work, or at play. They realize that it is impossible to be committed to excellence in one thing and not another, because being a CHAMPION is not what you do but WHO YOU ARE..........IT’S CHARACTER! - CHAMPIONS never make excuses, grumble, complain, point fingers, or talk about other people. They only talk about how they can get better. - CHAMPIONS thrill to the joy of the struggle! - CHAMPIONS know they have to learn to serve - before they will ever know how to lead. - CHAMPIONS never desire their opponents fail or get injured. In fact, they actually want them to play well, because the better the opposition plays the greater the CHAMPION is challenged to perform! It is a double win! - The CHAMPION’S theme is “Competition Breeds Excellence” - The mark of a CHAMPION is hard work - they work when no one is watching. - CHAMPIONS realize that sometimes they fail...maybe often and over and over. But they know that what makes them a CHAMPION is how they respond each time they fail. Champions choose to forget their failures, and fight on again. - The “Mark” of a CHAMPION is how they respond each time they fail. The CHAMPION chooses to forget their failures and fight on again. Their motto is “knocked down seven times, get up eight!” Being a CHAMPIONS has nothing to do with success and failure on the scoreboard, it has to do with choosing to have a CHAMPIONSHIP CHARACTER every moment of every day. - CHAMPIONS realize that some days, even most days - they don’t “feel” like working, striving, paying the price to becoming a CHAMPION. But then they remember, or another CHAMPION reminds them, that being a CHAMPION is a choice they make over and over and over each day......and so they make that choice again. - Above all, Being...BECOMING A CHAMPION is a CHOICE YOU MAKE EACH DAY. - What Will You Choose?

President’s Welcome For over 120 years Greenville College has graduated students that have excelled in their chosen careers and impacted
their communities with the light of Christ. We are intentionally Christian and intentionally student-focused. Our mission is to transform students to become critical thinkers, able communicators and confident problem solvers, and we know that these competencies are learned just as much on the athletic field as they are in the classroom.
We are immensely proud of our student athletes. The athletic field is a place where character is formed; where physical, mental and emotional battles are won (and sometime lost), and where lifelong friendships are forged. Our athletic pro-
grams are different than those found in many schools. We compete as fiercely as anyone, but we do so much more. In the Football Program, for example, we want our students to learn leadership skills, teambuilding skills, learn to hold one another accountable, and learn what it means to become a man who intentionally and consistently puts God first in their lives. Our
coaches work closely with our players focusing on their academic and personal development, as well as their physical development and playing skills. As important as it is to win on the field, it is much more important to win in life and that is where we place our primary focus.
Our student athletes have succeeded in just about every career imaginable. They have become successful physicians,
research scientists, accountants, social workers, police officers, teachers, managers, lawyers, music industry professionals, dentists, sports managers, athletic coaches and worship pastors. We are proud of the way in which they are changing the world, being salt and light in their families, communities, and workplaces.
So, whether you are a potential recruit, a current player, an alum, a parent, or one of our financial or prayer champions, get more involved. Play, cheer, give and pray. Help us to win games on the field and win young men for Christ. Go Panthers! Dr. Ivan L. Filby, President

HEAD COACH ROBBIE SCHOMAKER Schomaker, named head football coach on June 3, 2013 takes the reins of the Panther football program after serving as the Offensive Coordinator since 2010. Last season, Coach Schomaker lead one of the top offenses in the country ranking 12th in total yards. That success equated to the offense being ranked first in the UMAC in points (32.9) and yards (456). His offense paved the way for a third conference championship in four years as well as Greenville’s first postseason win, the NCCAA Victory Bowl, in school history.
8
During his time as offensive coordinator, Coach Schomaker led the offense to new heights. In 2010 the team went undefeated in the UMAC repeating as conference champs. The team was led by an offense that averaged 31.3 points per game and 307 yards rushing (8th in the NCAA). This success was a trend that would continue during Schomaker’s three years in this position. In 2011 the offense would finish the year 3rd in the NCAA in total offense averaging 503 yards per game and 14th in scoring, averaging 39.1 points per game. In addition to leading the offense to high national rankings, Schomaker helped develop 11 first team allconference players, including two UMAC Offensive Player of the Year winners and an NCCAA Offensive Player of the Year. Schomaker’s greatest talent is probably his ability to recruit student athletes. At Trinity he was a major part in orchestrating one of the largest classes in the history of the program with over 60 student athletes deciding to attend. At Greenville it was more of the same. In 2010, his first season as Recruiting Coordinator, records were once again broken. The football program brought in classes of over 60 student-athletes each year he held the position. Robbie and his wife, Annie currently reside in Greenville. His wife works part time at Greenville Regional Hospital as a social worker and full time with The Set Free Movement fighting to end human trafficking in the United States.

Upon graduating from Trinity International University (NAIA) in 2004 with a B.A. in Business Management, where he also played defensive end, Schomaker remained at his alma-mater beginning his career as an offensive line coach. Two years later he would be hired full time while adding special teams coordinator to his job description. After two more seasons at Trinity he was offered a spot as the offensive coordinator at Greenville College.
