Sensory for children Sensory Space A place for all children to explore and play at Marsden Library. Learn through technology, touch, sight, sound and movement. The space features play-based equipment including a bubble tube, touch screen, tablets and wall toys. Kits for families and groups to use with children are available including: social and emotions; tactile; fine coordination and auditory. Funded by:

Cultural Our words our stories: community celebration Join us as we celebrate the launch of Our words our stories, created in recognition of the 2019 United Nations International Year of Indigenous Languages. These stories feature Wajin: The Guardian of Scrubby Creek eBook and interactive video, and a podcast series. Nyeumba-Meta
Yarning with our mob
Nyeumba-Meta is a space and collection at Logan Central Library that aims to foster respect for Australian Indigenous cultures. The space includes a yarning circle and artwork, and it has regular events throughout the year. Nyeumba-Meta was named to reflect the Yugambeh and Torres Strait Islander languages. Nyeumba in Yugambeh language means “teaching or learning” while Meta in eastern Torres Strait Islander language means “house”.

Heritage Visit Mayes Cottage 20 Mawarra Street, Kingston Step back in time and visit historic Mayes Cottage, a reminder of Queensland’s pioneering age. The cottage was built in 1887 and is virtually unchanged. Enjoy the calm and relaxing atmosphere with a picnic or share a yarn on the veranda with our friendly volunteer guides. Mayes Cottage House Museum is free and open to everyone. The opening hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10.30am to 4pm.
