THE
FIREBIRD ON STAGE TODAY
EDWARD GARDNER – LPO Principal Conductor RACHEL LEACH – presenter LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA Welcome to the Royal Festival Hall and today’s fiery tale of good versus evil. Our story begins in the grounds of wicked King Kastchei’s dark and mysterious garden. An evil presence lurks among the ivy-riddled stone statues. Brave Prince Ivan tiptoes through the spooky shrubbery but in the corner of his eye there’s a flash of something gold ... Could it be the magical Firebird? All will be revealed in today’s FUNharmonics concert through the dazzling sounds of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and their Principal Conductor, Edward Gardner. With plenty of interactive moments, and even a song to sing, we hope you’ll enjoy one of the most brilliant orchestral masterpieces of the 20th century.
