EDWARD GARDNER conductor RACHEL LEACH presenter LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA Welcome to our FUNharmonics family extravaganza! Today we're exploring the many amazing sounds of the Orchestra through Benjamin Britten’s classic masterpiece, The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. We’ll uncover interesting facts about each of the musical families along the way, and discover how all the instruments fit together to create the wonderful sound of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. We’ll also take a trip to the coast and hear how the Orchestra can create the sounds of a calm or stormy sea, and maybe even something lurking beneath the waves...! It’s then your turn to join the Orchestra in APG, our fun audience participation piece, so get your best body percussion moves ready for your debut performance with the LPO!
