ON STAGE TODAY
CHARLOTTE POLITI conductor CLARICE ASSAD presenter LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA Welcome to the Royal Festival Hall and today’s musical celebration of all things football! Today we will hear an array of music to get you in the sporty mood, meeting our orchestral player teams along the way. We will then delve into the mind of legendary footballer Marta Vieira da Silva through a special performance of É Gol! by Clarice Assad – the first time this piece has ever been performed in the UK. We will follow Marta as she prepares for a match, warming up and calming her nerves so she can be on top form for the big game. This piece was created for orchestra and audience to perform together, so we need your help! We invite you to join in throughout, using your voices, breath and body percussion, under the expert guidance of composer and presenter Clarice. Are you ready for your debut performance with the London Philharmonic Orchestra?
