LONE TREE ARTS CENTER HOSTS TWELFTH-ANNUAL LONE TREE ART EXHIBITION AND SALE 68 Artists with 100 Pieces were Selected LONE TREE, CO – Of the 330 artworks submitted for entry to the 12th annual Lone Tree Art Exhibition and Sale, 100 were selected for the show, which opens November 16 at the Lone Tree Arts Center (LTAC). The show will run through January 5, 2014 and represents the work of 68 different artists from all over Colorado, as well as from Wyoming and South Carolina. The public is invited to attend the show’s opening reception on Saturday, November 16, from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Guests can sample hors d’oeuvres, enjoy a performance by the Mountain Air String Quartet, mingle with local artists, and purchase original works of juried artwork and artist bin work. Categories are sculpture, mixed media, oil, pastel, and water media. Katharine SmithWarren was chosen as the juror for this year’s Exhibition. Lucius Brooker, Chair of the Lone Tree Arts Commission, said they selected Warren for her previous experience as a juror as well as her artistic talent. “With a long list of accomplishments and career achievements, Katharine brings a discerning and critical eye to this event,” said Brooker. Warren said of the selections, “I hope I get to meet some of the people behind these interesting works of art, and that visitors to the Lone Tree Arts Center find art that delights and engages them.”
The gallery will be open 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and prior to all shows at LTAC November 16 - January 5. The Lone Tree Art Exhibition a program of the Lone Tree Arts Commission, and is made possible in part thanks to the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District.
