The marvel of water media art by Colorado artists!
February 10, 2014 The Colorado Watercolor Society showcases talented Colorado artists in the 23rd Annual State Exhibition, March 4-30, 2014, at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Last year’s exhibition drew visitors from across the state, as well as local media. The media and general public are invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, March 7, 5:00 to 7:30 PM with the awards ceremony beginning at 7:00PM. Many of the exhibiting artists are expected to attend. Exhibition Details: March 4-30, 2014, Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons Street, Lone Tree, Colorado. The art exhibition is available for viewing and purchases during Lone Tree Arts Center box office hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00AM-4:00PM or two hours prior to a performance at the Lone Tree Arts Center, including weekends.
About the Juror: Show juror-internationally known artist Carl Dalio, has chosen 88 exciting works in water media by Colorado artists. Dalio lives in Sedona, Arizona and is known for his bold, saturated color paintings in oil, watercolor, and pastel. He is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, and Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Society. With a degree in architecture, he has sustained an interest in art and architecture through his work as a successful fine artist and free-lance illustrator. He has presented watercolor demonstrations and workshops in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Indonesia. Dalio’s paintings have received many awards and have been included in several national exhibitions including the American Watercolor Society in New York, National Watercolor Society in California, Rocky Mountain National, San Diego Watercolor Society, and Watercolor Art Society-Houston. Carl Dalio’s paintings, six times as cover art, and numerous articles have appeared in books and publications including American Artist, Artist’s Magazine, Watercolor Magazine, and Pastel Journal.
About the Venue: The high quality artwork and caliber of this year’s juror will be well complemented by the beautiful venue, the Lone Tree Arts Center. The new Lone Tree Arts Center (LTAC) is a professional, innovative and environmentally green venue designed by Westlake Reed Leskosky, a leading national designer of performing arts centers. Included in the Arts Center are a grand entry hall event and gallery space, main stage theater, and an adaptable event hall that opens onto an outdoor terrace theater.
About Colorado Watercolor Society: The Colorado Watercolor Society (CWS), based in Denver, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) fine arts organization. Our mission is to uphold the highest standards and principles of art and to promote, encourage, educate and foster an interest in fine art in all media, especially watercolor. CWS was first established as an art group in 1954 and held its first public exhibition at the Mile High Center of Denver in 1957.
