CRAIG MARSHALL SMITH Harry Oil 40 x 30 $1,800
Harry, a (now) four-year-old, small standard, short-haired, boar-colored (red with some black) dachshund, shipped Delta Cargo from a Bevier, Missouri breeder, has not been out of my sight, nor have I been out of his, since the pandemic came to town. He has been a constant antidote to the pandemic, the Big Lie, and every other unhappy headline since he first gazed at me with his mesmerizing umber eyes on February 21, 2018. Ironically, his primary benefit has been his complete indifference to the pandemic and that other thing I mentioned. Instead, he has been a worthwhile and loving distraction. Dogs are better than most human beings. No—all human beings. Including myself.
