About Littleton Youth Ballet Littleton Youth Ballet is a performing ballet company comprised of 77 young dancers between the ages of 8 to 18. Our mission is to maintain a first-rate non-profit youth company of dancers, enriching their lives and those of their families, schools, communities, and beyond. We also aim to provide a caring and respectful environment that offers each dancer quality performance experience to enable them to reach their fullest potential, not only as dancers, but in all areas of life. We strive to encourage and promote dance with dynamic, full-length productions and diverse outreach programs throughout the Denver area. All of our dancers are students at Littleton Ballet Academy. Many of our upper-level students have won awards and scholarships in ballet competitions and have been accepted and/or received scholarships and stipends to nationally recognized ballet schools across the nation.
About Littleton Ballet Academy Littleton Ballet Academy is a pre-professional ballet school in Littleton. Run by co-directors, Alison and Bobbie Jaramillo, the school focuses on ballet while also offering training in jazz, tap, contemporary, musical theatre, conditioning, and Pilates Reformer to create strong and versatile dancers. In 2020, LBA was awarded Outstanding School by Youth American Grand Prix and dancers have been invited to YAGP Finals for the last four years. Dancers have also done well at the Denver Ballet Guild Young Dancer’s Competition (winning the David Parvin Award twice) and StarQuest (in 2020 all seven ensembles placed including a 1st place finish). Dancers have also been accepted and/or received scholarships and stipends to nationally recognized ballet schools across the nation. Littleton Ballet Academy is a performance-based school meaning that committed dancers have lots of opportunities to participate in Littleton Youth Ballet productions, outreaches, benefits, and possibly some ballet competitions. Dancers in Ballet 3 and higher have the chance to perform four times a year on a real stage and learn to develop stage awareness and presence, experience how a ballet is created, and as they grow, even the chance to create a leading or supporting role in a ballet. Our environment is strict but caring, encouraging students to work at their fullest potential. We have a wonderful family feel in our studio, with supportive parents, and the younger students being able to look up to the older students. Our faculty and staff become involved in the development of all our students. Our goal is to produce dancers who are wonderful people that will succeed in anything they wish to do whether it’s a career in ballet or something else. Thank you for your coming to the show! We are so excited to present Cinderella!
Cinderella Act 1
Once upon a time there lived a young girl everyone called Cinderella. Her mother died when she was very young, and her father had married a widow with two daughters before he died. Her stepmother was cruel, and Cinderella had to do all of the housekeeping. In her spare time, she would spend long hours all talking to the cat and pretending her life was different. Even though she was dressed in old rags, she was a lovely girl. Her stepsisters were spoiled and because of this they were quite ugly. They were excited because they were going to go to a grand ball at the palace. Cinderella was not allowed to go but to cheer her up the birds and mice dress her up. The stepsisters don’t like this and are suddenly interrupted by a BeggarWoman who comes in mysteriously. Cinderella gives her some bread and the strange woman thanks her, revealing herself to be more than she seems. The Dancing Mistress comes in to give a dance lesson but she becomes exasperated at the ugly manner of the stepsisters and leaves. Now it is time to go to the ball and the stepsisters and stepmother leave in a hurry leaving Cinderella behind. She imagines she gets to go to the ball and the cat dances with her. Then a little fairy appears and requests that Cinderella follows her. The Fairy Godmother reappears (she was the Beggar-Woman) and tells Cinderella she will get to go to the ball. With the help of four seasonal fairies, fairies, sprites, pixies, fireflies, grasshoppers, butterflies, dragonflies, and mice they all make it possible for her wish to come true. The Fairy Godmother and Timekeepers warn Cinderella that the magic will only last until midnight. A beautiful coach appears and whisks her away to the ball.

Act 2
The ball is attended by many guests and a Jester announces the arrival of the prince. Everyone, including the stepsisters, hopes to impress him. The Jesters and Royal Children dance and the stepsisters decide to show off their “talents”. Suddenly the Fairy Godmother and her fairies appear and announce a mystery guest. Cinderella charms everyone at the ball and she and the prince dance for hours. The Jesters arrive with two oranges which the stepsisters grab, but the stepmother outsmarts one of her daughters and claims it instead. They are interrupted by the arrival of the Timekeepers who remind Cinderella that it is midnight. She escapes the palace but leaves behind her slipper. The prince decides he will only marry the girl whose foot fits the slipper. Cinderella wakes up the next morning realizing that the ball really happened but thinking that she sadly will never see the prince again. The stepsisters and stepmother come back from the ball bragging about the wonderful time they had. They are interrupted by the arrival of the pages and the prince who are looking for the mystery girl. The stepsisters try on the slipper and when it doesn’t fit either of them, the stepmother decides to make sure it will fit her. Cinderella helps her but suddenly she drops the other slipper. Everyone stares at Cinderella in disbelief as the prince suddenly recognizes her. They decide to marry, and they celebrate their wedding with a beautiful pas de deux and live happily ever after.
