You’re invited to join us for THE Chamber event of the year on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. It is the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Banquet to be held at Maude Cobb Convention Center and sponsored by VeraBank. Growth & greatness – two things that tend to go hand-in-hand. In Texas, we not only talk about it, we experience it, and we believe it to be a good thing. Growth has been a part of Texas’ past and continues into the present. While we have every expectation that our growth and greatness as a state will flow right into the future, we also know the future will bring new challenges and opportunities as we work to preserve the best parts of Texas.
It is for this purpose we have invited Margaret Spellings, CEO, of Texas2036 to share practical ways we can engage fellow Texans and come together with non-partisan ideas and modern solutions. These solutions must be grounded in research and data to break through the gridlock on issues that matter most to Texans. Margaret Spellings has served as the U.S. Secretary of Education, White House Chief Domestic Policy Advisor, Senior Policy Advisor to then-Governor George W. Bush, and President of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Through her work as legislative director and chief committee clerk for the Texas House of Representatives, Spellings’ helped lead bipartisan efforts making her a well-respected leader across the state. She is no stranger to what it takes to move the needle and get bipartisan support among elected officials.
In addition to remarks from Ms. Spellings, we will be celebrating with AEP/SWEPCO who is being recognized as Large Business of the Year and INDEVCO Plastics who will be honored for their contributions to The Longview Chamber of Commerce and Longview Trade Area. The evening will conclude with special recognition being given to Ken Hall who is receiving the distinguished Chairman’s Award.
