The Longview Area Chamber Education Foundation in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, is hosting the 2020 Annual Meeting/Banquet on January 28, 2020, at the Maude Cobb Convention Center to celebrate an amazing year which includes the official launch of HealthyVIEW.
Over the past year key influencers from the City of Longview, United Way, Buckner Family Services, CHRISTUS Good Shepherd, Longview Regional Medical Center, Community Healthcore, Wellness Point, the Junior League, and large employers came together to begin identifying initiatives that would increase awareness and understanding of access to preventive and health care services for underinsured, uninsured, minority and low income households, and the community at large.
Dr. Albert L. Reyes is President and CEO of Buckner International, a nonprofit international ministry that transforms the lives of orphans, vulnerable children, families and elders.
He is the sixth President and CEO of the 140-year-old organization based in Dallas, Texas. He previously served as President of Buckner International and President of Buckner Children and Family Services. Prior to his service at Buckner, Reyes was president of Baptist University of the Américas in San Antonio.
Reyes also has served as pastor of three churches and was involved in numerous roles within the Baptist General Convention of Texas, serving as its President in 2005. He currently is a member of the Board of the Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO).

He is the author of “The Jesus Agenda: Becoming an Agent of Redemption” (Believers Press, 2015) and "Hope Now: Peace, Healing, and Justice When the Kingdom Comes Near" (Iron Stream Books, 2019). Reyes and his wife Belinda have three adult children and belong to Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas.

With the support of Buckner International, focus groups were hosted and a survey was disseminated in the community to collect data and information that could be used in the establishment of strategies to advance the five (5) pillars of health:
Physical Health | Mental & Spiritual Health Financial Health | Workplace Health | Community Health
The data and information collected was assessed by LeTourneau University’s Behavioral Sciences Department. On January 28, Dr. Albert Reyes, CEO of Buckner International, will be delivering a program that integrates the information collected to discuss pathways that could increase awareness and understanding of healthy choices in everyday living and promote a healthy lifestyle. The Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber Foundation believe in building a culture of health and understands this can only be accomplished through community involvement.
