Royal acclaim for Scout group PRINCE Andrew, Duke of York, visited Sheffield to present awards for outstanding community work. As part of the royal visit, he took time to present 150th Wadsley Scouts with a prestigious Duke of York Community Award for their work with young people. During the ceremony at Sheffield Cathedral, Prince Andrew met and chatted to youngsters from the group. The Prince commended the group for their work and backed volunteers to keep up the good work. The award recognises the scout group’s efforts to bring fun and adventure to as many youngsters as possible, including those with extra needs. With over 260 youngsters, aged between six and eighteen, 150th is one of the largest scout groups in the UK. Collecting the award, Matt Moran, a member of the group, said: “This award really recognises the hard work of the volunteers who week-on-week help to organise awesome activities and help to teach new skills.

“From building cardboard castle fortresses to monkey tennis on week nights, and survival weekends to summer camps; I feel proud to say I volunteer at the 150th! “It also recognises the enthusiastic attitude of every beaver, cub or scout who gets involved with the adventure, often building lifelong friendships!” 150th Group Leader, Henry Bryan, added: “Scouting is enjoying a resurgence in Yorkshire as youngsters rediscover all the benefits scouting brings. It’s popularity now means there’s even more kids winning at life. “It’s fantabulous to have the royal thumbs up, but as a volunteer, a thumbs up from an eight-year-old is pretty amazing too. “We move with the times, with a modern website, social media and accessible modern building. “All this adds to a great mix of modern activities, like laser tag, and those that scouting is best known for like weekends under canvas or abseiling down rock faces.”

“Putting children centre stage”

A MEETING to discuss the future of the St Matthias Church building is to take place, with suggestions being taken and discussed. With the recent closure of St Mathias Church, various local organisations would be interested in

the building being put to continued community usage. Beacon Arts Project see it as a potential space that assists them with their work to inspire creativity locally. The Stocksbridge History Society

wish to have a place to display important local historic artefacts, and with its close proximity to the railway line through the works in the centre of Stocksbridge, Don Valley Railway see the building being a good base for campaigning

ahead of it being a Grand Central Station for Stocksbridge in the future when our aspirations materialise. If any other local organisations consider that they may wish to join a campaign to keep St Mathias as a community

building, they can attend the meeting at 6.30pm on Wednesday August 15 at Stocksbridge Town Hall. If you may wish to participate in this project, contact Chris Bell of Don Valley Railway on chris153@btinternet.com to discuss further.

It may still be the middle of the summer holidays but Noodle Performance Arts North Sheffield is now taking bookings for the start of the academic year. Performing arts and dance classes help boost children’s confidence and self-esteem as well as equipping them with valuable life skills. Noodle prides itself on being different to traditional stage schools. Children learn to dance, sing and act in an informal, no-pressure environment where having fun and making friends is more important than learning lines.

Children aged between three and six can get their first taste of the performing arts in an hour-long class starting at 10am. Youngsters will try their hand at dancing, acting and singing and learn to work with others as a team.

There are no expensive uniforms or exam fees, just affordable classes your child will love. SOUTH YORKSHIRE TRAVELMASTER OPERATORS INTRODUCE DISCOUNT FOR 18-21 YEAR OLDS ON September 1 TravelMaster, the commercial organisation responsible for delivering and managing multi-operator and integrated ticketing in South Yorkshire, will be introducing some changes to its South Yorkshire bus, train and tram tickets; including a new and enhanced approach to providing discounts for 18-21 year olds in the region with a new and bespoke ‘18-21 Discount Card’. The ‘18-21 Discount Card’ will be a smart card available for all young people regardless of where they live or their level of study who travel in South Yorkshire up to the day before their 22nd birthday. With it an eligible young person will enjoy a discount of 15% against the price of all adult 7 & 28 Day TravelMaster tickets. This new approach will replace TravelMaster’s current branded youth

products, the SYConnect18, 20 & 25 and the SYConnect+18, 20 & 25, which will be withdrawn from sale from the 1st October 2018. This change will not affect the discounted GetAbout range of tickets for under-18s. Announcing the new card, which will be promoted through a retro 8-bit themed campaign, Matt Smallwood, General Manager of TravelMaster, said: “I’m delighted to announce our new and enhanced approach towards providing discounts for 18-21 year olds in the region. I’m incredibly pleased that we’re able to offer our already amazing value adult products for even less. We’ll be offering a discount against every one of our adult 7 & 28 Day tickets, regardless of their geographical or modal validity, which will make this one of the most flexible approaches towards discounts for this age-range in the country.

“South Yorkshire already has one of the most advanced and value for money integrated ticketing systems outside London and this is yet another innovative step we’re taking towards making that offer even easier to access for the region’s transport users.” The ’18-21 Discount Card’ can be applied for online through the Travel South Yorkshire Website where customers will need a valid proof of age (Passport, Driving License or Birth Certificate) and a passport sized photo. With the discount card customers can buy discounted 7 & 28 Day versions of all TravelMaster’s standard products (CityBus, CityWide, BConnect, DonConnect, RConnect, SYConnect & SYConnect+) from Ticket Vending Machines at interchanges located around the county. HELP GIVE A WARM YORKSHIRE WELCOME

The focus will be to meet and greet visitors in the visitor centre, ensure that visitors get the most from their visit, and letting them know how they can help save nature. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference to your local wildlife and become part of a great team at an amazing reserve. Jo Hall Light, Visitor Operations Manager at RSPB Old Moor said: “We’ve had a brilliant couple years, the reserve going from strength to strength in all areas; new wildlife has colonised and existing residents have flourished and grown in number. We have a great team of volunteers working across all aspects of the site.” “We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be trained to give visitors of all ages to the reserve a great welcome, in doing so ensuring every visitor gets the most from their visit, and encouraging them to support the RSPB’s vital conservation work.” Shelia, RSPB Volunteer at Old Moor said: “Volunteering here allows me to make a tangible contribution to the RSPB’s mission to give nature a home, plus I’ve been able to develop my knowledge of wildlife and conservation massively. No two days are the same, with different wildlife appearing through the seasons and a broad range of visitors to talk to from experienced birdwatchers to families eager to explore.”

MP supports child Rural crime costs South library campaign Yorkshire over ÂŁ600,000 in 2017

RURAL crime cost South Yorkshire ÂŁ643,910 in 2017. Despite a fall of 18.2% from ÂŁ786,865 in 2016, the problems in South Yorkshire persist. The figures form part of NFU Mutual’s annual Rural Crime Report, published today, which reveals that the UK saw a 13.4% rise in the cost of rural crime last year. The items most commonly targeted by thieves across South Yorkshire over the last 12 months were quad bikes and ATVs (all-terrain vehicles), equine equipment and machinery. Richard Houldsworth, NFU Mutual Senior Agent in South Yorkshire, said: “Countryside criminals continue to become more brazen and farmers are now having to continually in-

crease security and adopt new ways of protecting their equipment.

“Social media is fast becoming the new eyes and ears of the countryside. By keeping in close touch with neighbours and police through local farmwatch schemes country people can play a significant role in identifying suspicious activity and bringing thieves to justice. “Fitting gates to prevent easy access to farm yards and drives is one of the most effective measures. High-tech security such as movement detectors, infra-red cameras and ‘geofencing’, which triggers an alarm if a farm vehicle moves off the premises, can also play a part.

fears for people in rural communities, with many forced to change the way they live and work as a result of rural crime.

Richard adds, “The threat of becoming a victim of rural crime, and regular reports of suspicious characters watching farms is causing high levels of anxiety amongst farmers who know their rural location makes them vulnerable to attacks. “Our advice to people living and working in the countryside is to regularly evaluate your current security measures making improvements where necessary, remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the local police and local farm watch schemes.

The report further reveals that limited police resources and repeat attacks are the biggest

Research shows that reading for pleasure is a pivotal factor in life achievement and that children who use libraries are twice as likely to be above average readers. This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is Mischief Makers; celebrating the 80th anniversary of the much-loved comic, Beano. To take part in the Challenge, children head to their local library collect a map of Beanotown to keep a record of their reading journey. As children read at least six library books over the summer, they will collect stickers which will help them crack the clues and help Dennis, Gnasher

and friends find the buried treasure! Children can use the special website http://www.mischiefmakers.org.uk to create a profile, chat about books, and get help on what to read next, via the digital Book Sorter which already offers over 600,000 peer to peer children’s book recommendations in child-friendly categories. The Summer Reading Challenge reaches children and young people of all ages. For pre-schoolers there is a mini-challenge while young people (aged 13 to 24) can volunteer and support younger children taking part, as part of The Reading Agency’s Reading Hack programme. Volunteering provides a quality workplace experience for young people in libraries, inspires them to think about their future career and increases their employability as they gain useful life skills and

confidence. Last year over 7,500 young people across the UK volunteered. Commenting, Angela said: “Libraries are important cornerstones of a healthy community, and give people the opportunity to find jobs, expand their knowledge and experience new ideas. They present an opportunity to explore international, national, local and even our own personal histories. Perhaps most importantly they are an inexhaustible source of stories to capture the imagination and open the door to different worlds. “I hope parents, grandparents and carers in Penistone and Stocksbridge will take their children to the library over the summer to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge.  It’s free, inclusive and, most importantly, makes reading fun.

Remains of 200 year-old Ironworks found under Yorkshire playing field A RECENT archaeological dig, funded through the National Lottery at the Milton Forge playing fields between Elsecar and Hoyland in South Yorkshire has discovered a previously unknown part of the once famous Milton Ironworks. Over the last few weeks, professional archaeologists have worked with staff from Barnsley Museums and the local community to find traces of the area’s forgotten industrial past, as part of the Great Place Wentworth and Elsecar project, with exciting results. In the last few days of the dig, they uncovered the remains of a calcining kiln – an oven for roasting iron ore before it was smelted in blast furnaces. It’s thought that this was one of a series of kilns used at the works, although their location was unknown.

Richard Jackson, principal archaeologist with ArcHeritage, said: “The dig has been really exciting. The geophysics that Historic England did last year showed a big magnetic response here, so we were interested to find out why that was. We have been able to prove that the remains of the former ironworks have survived, and the site was bigger than we first thought.” The dig uncovered many other fascinating artefacts from the early 20th century when the field was used as a tip. This included part of a commemorative cup from the Belmont Social Club in Hoyland, and a workman’s clay pipe from Broseley in Shropshire. Another chance find was a rare stamped brick from a forgotten brickworks close to the Milton Ironworks. The brick is now on display as part of the ‘Barnsley Brick

Project’ exhibition at Experience Barnsley Museum and Discovery centre.

the amazing history of this region with visitors and future generations.”

During the dig, dozens of local people and school children came to help. Many more visited the site to see what was going on and to share their memories and stories of the area.

Dr. Tegwen Roberts, Project Officer for the Elsecar Heritage Action Zone, supported by Historic England said: “It’s been a fantastic community effort. The Milton Ironworks was originally a key part of the planned model industrial development of Elsecar. Generations of local people worked here, and it’s been great to see that people are rediscovering their connection with the site and its history.”

Councillor Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Place, said: “The excavation has provided a fantastic opportunity for the community to take part in documenting an important piece of local history. We are passionate about Barnsley’s heritage and the work carried out at Milton Ironworks is part of an exciting programme of activities and events. Over the next few years, we plan to document and share

The trenches have now been carefully back-filled to protect the archaeological remains. The results will be presented at a public event at Elsecar Heritage Centre later in the year.

valleys, where deer, ponies and cattle roam free, and rivers and shady groves provide a tranquil haven for walking, cycling and horse riding. However, life in the New Forest changes dramatically during the year, particularly so in spring. As the trees burst into leaf, the season heralds the promise of new life.

But this can be a time of jeopardy and worry for people and animals alike. For the semi-wild ponies and cattle that roam this land, giving birth to foals and calves during this fickle and changeable season isn’t easy. Plus, late frosts could spell disaster for the goshawk‘s precious eggs.

It’s not too late to make a Will... Hello, I’m Jane Bowland, your local Estate Planning Consultant of 12 years experience. I am an expert in helping people arrange their Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Pre-paid Funeral Plans. I specialise in helping all kinds of people gain peace of mind by providing professional estate planning services, but with a personal touch. I offer a FREE consultation without obligation for anybody who would like to know more about any of the following:

Caroline ROBERTS (Née Fieldsend)

Formerly of Wood Royd, Deepcar. Passed away peacefully on 2nd July 2018 at Northwick Park Hospital, Middlesex aged 70 years. Funeral Service Grenoside Crematorium North Chapel on Tuesday 21st August at 1.00pm. All enquiries to Dyson Funeral Service, New Road, Deepcar. Tel: 0114 2883169.

• Making a basic Will • Setting up Lasting Powers of Attorney • Protecting your home for future generations • Pre–paid Funeral Plans Having a Will in place ensures your assets go to who you choose. It makes the whole process much easier for the people you leave behind and it puts in black and white exactly what you want to happen, avoiding any misunderstanding or arguing. Setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney gives the people that YOU choose the legal right to look after your financial and personal affairs if you become unable to do so. Without one in place, your spouse, partner or family members are NOT automatically able

to take over. Make sure you avoid the distress this can cause you and your loved ones. I know that planning for the future is a very personal matter. Not everyone is able or wants to travel to an appointment in town to sort out their affairs. I can visit you at a convenient time in the comfort and privacy of your own home to discuss your circumstances. My visit and consultation is completely free and you are under no obligation

to do anything. If you decide to make any arrangements you can be safe in the knowledge that all my professional services and work are fully insured and I am a member of the Society of Will Writers, so all my clients are assured of being fully protected at all times. All my clients (and their families) that I have helped in the past have been very happy with my services and tell me they have gained great peace of mind knowing that they have sorted everything out.

Jane came to see my parents to help them protect the family home. She really made us all feel at ease, especially my parents. We had no idea what we could do to protect Mum and Dad. Having set up trusts and Lasting Power of Attorney’s, Mum and Dad can get on with their lives without worrying, knowing everything is now in place. Thank you Jane!

Ecclesfield Parish council (EPC) is to be investigated. This will cover how the Council operates, its processes and procedures. I welcome this investigation as I know the EPC has to reform or has to go. The process starts in September and should take about three months. Emergency meeting Thursday 7pm at EPC offices, open to public. Updates will be on my facebook page. David Ogle, Councillor High Green ward (EPC), High Green volunteer

Mates Club Dear Sir, Having just read David Ogle’s response to my recent letter, I must say I am once more amazed at his total negativity about Ecclesfield Parish Council and he makes some interesting allegations about funding. I lived in Chapeltown and was elected as a councillor for Chapeltown ward, I certainly was not biased towards Grenoside or Ecclesfield to the detriment of High Green or Thorncliffe. From my perspective I worked to support groups irrespective of their location. David mentions the “EPC mates club. When I was a councillor this was certainly untrue and while everyone wanted to support all areas within the parish council area there were certainly robust debates that took place (and rightly so) as, while we had our different political views, it was not personal and ultimately we all wanted to improve all our neighbourhoods.

Please find attached a copy of an article I’ve just come across on the Internet which I thought may I am neither a member of nor a supporter of a be of interest, for in case there are lessons to be political party but I really do take offence at the born in mind for this country should the heatwave attitude of Cllr. PACKED full of history dating back to at least 1066, Wentworth’s architecture and acres of green land make it a place of high interest. The stand-out landmark is the famous Wentworth Woodhouse, the largest privately owned house in Europe. It has only recently opened its doors to the public, with full guided tours of the house and grounds out back on offer at a price.

The history of Wentworth Woodhouse, as well as the village of Wentworth, is

derived from the great aristocratic families – the Wentworths, Watsons and Fitzwilliams – who presided over it for generations.

and the number of visitors so please do come and support this community event.

Presented by The Chapeltown Forum, the show will take place in the Newton Hall in Chapeltown.

In conjunction with the show, a fun day has been organised at Chapeltown Library - a children’s ‘veggie activity day’.

If you can grow it, make it, preserve it or bake it then save the date! Categories will include fresh produce, floral, domestic produce, handicrafts and textiles, art and sculpture, photography, woodwork, children and teens to include painting, poetry, craft and much more. This will be open to exhibitors to place their entries from 8.30am to 10.30am and the show will be open to the public from 1pm to 4.30pm. Organisers are hoping to break the record for the number of entries

This will include a vegetable quiz and lots of veggie related crafts. Winners of the various categories will be announced at the show in September. Again, organisers look forward to seeing as many children as possible taking part. The cost is 50p per adult entry with all child and teen entries free. Schedule and entry forms are available from Chapeltown Library, Happy Hare and Burncross Nurseries.

Anita Straffon, Deputy Chief Executive, The Sheffield College, said: “We are thrilled to be the first in Yorkshire to offer talented basketball players this new education and training programme for excellence. Sheffield has a fantastic sporting reputation, and we are pleased to play our part working with Basketball England to develop home grown talent and help our learners go further.” Charlie Ford, Programme and Pathway Integration Manager, Basketball England, said: “Bas-

ketball England are pleased to welcome and endorse The Sheffield College as one of 17 institutions throughout the country who will be supported and empowered to progress the academic and athletic ambitions of players within the talent pathway. It is hoped that the new England Development Programme will provide players with the knowledge and skills to perform at the highest level on a domestic and international stage.” Students will complete 16 hours of basketball coaching and three strength and conditioning sessions a week, alongside academic and vocational qualifications. They will play for National Basketball League (NBL) teams on evenings and weekends. The College has been chosen by Basketball England to be part of the England Development Programme for basketball in Yorkshire. The new DiSE qualification is being introduced as part of Basketball England’s new talent system and pathway for 16 to 19-year-olds.

Leading sport coaches are involved in the programme including the well-known former basketball player and sports lecturer Vanessa Ellis, who is based in Sheffield. Vanessa, who is Assistant Coach to the Great Britain senior women’s side and Head Coach of the Great Britain Under 18 women’s team, said: “I am delighted to be working with the College to support this exciting new initiative.” Her expertise includes being Head Coach of Sheffield Hatters, the first women’s basketball team in England set up by her mum Betty Codona in the 1960s. She also coached the Great Britain women’s basketball team for the 2012 Olympics.

IT was a great double win for the two Stocksbridge CC sides at the weekend. Stocksbridge CC first team took on Hallam CC third team at Bracken Moor in another important fixture to move up the table and ease any relegation fears. Hallam won the toss and elected to bat and opening bowlers Jake Vickers (2) and Joe Hibbert took some early wickets to leave the away team 10-2 before a slight recovery got them to 50-3. Another collapse by Hallam left them at 80-6 and then 92-7 wickets from Jack Newton (2) and Les Harris who

ended up with figures of 4-52 before the away rallied to set a total of 156 all out for Stocksbridge to chase. Stocksbridge began their chase with intent and openers Matt Price and Jack Newton got them off to a flyer putting 50 on for the first wicket before Jack Newton was out for a rapid 29. Dave Smith built another partnership with Matt Price who finished on a match winning 59 not out as the home team knocked off the total in just 26 overs to move up the table in YDCL Division One. Stocksbridge CC second team travelled to Ridgeway

in need of a big win as they sat bottom of the table going into this fixture. The away team batted first after winning the toss and got off to a good start after losing an early wicket with left handers Bob Newton and Elliot Freeman taking them to 80-1 before the youngster Freeman was caught and bowled. Another left hand combination of Eric Price and Bob Newton added another 40 before a middle order collapse threatened to affect the total Stocksbridge were hoping for. But after Bob Newton’s excellent 65 it was left

to Jon Pickford (33 runs), on his return to the team, to steady the ship and lead Stocksbridge to a total of 203 with a well struck cameo from youngster Rowan Brearley with 17 off 7 balls. Rowan Brearley then took an early wicket in Ridgeways reply but then a partnership off 100 set up the game nicely although the home team rode their luck with chances falling short of fielders on many occasions. Then Paul Hargreaves was brought on from the bowling green end to make the break through taking the wicket of Harry Cartwright the for-

mer Derbyshire player. This started the fall of wickets with the experienced Jim Tomlinson taking 5-45 in his continuous spell of 12 overs from the scoreboard end to lead Stocksbridge to a much needed win bowling Ridgeway out for 130. This result takes them out of the relegation zone and was a great team performance with contributions from all of the team which will be needed to secure there place in this division.

Church lose to Handsworth in opener PENISTONE Church got off to a losing start to their new campaign, slipping to a 3-1 defeat away to Handsworth Parramore.

“The disappointing thing is we did the hard work first half by staying in the game, we went in with a clean sheet, which is what we wanted.

The game was without score for the first hour but a quickfire brace from Ged Phillips gave Handsworth the lead.

“We went out with a clean sheet mentality for the second half because if you do that you at least take a point.

Cameron Rigby sealed the three points for the home side in the 90th minute but there was still time for Brett Lovell to grab a late consolation for Church.

“Unfortunately in the second half we just let them dictate a little bit too much, we didn’t do our individual jobs or our collective jobs as well as we could.

Manager Ian Richards reflected after the game: “Obviously this wasn’t the result we wanted on the first day of the season but we must remember we have 37 opportunities to put it right, it’s a long season.

“We were too nice and it’s something we have to improve because against the best teams like Handsworth you can’t be. There was no question about our endeavour or our work ethic, our attitude or even our quality but we’ve got to have a mean, winning or leadership streak within us and that’s what the best teams have.

“I didn’t really want to talk about it before the game but we probably had our toughest away fixture away at Handsworth who are title favourites for the league.

“Handsworth have got that, they’ve got experienced players, they have players who have played a lot higher and probably still be playing a lot

higher. If we want to ambitious we have to have that within us. “Too many times crosses went out of play, we made wrong decisions about our through balls and passing and when we did get it in the box we didn’t commit ourselves and attack it with conviction, we allowed them to have free headers and their keeper to come and get clean takes. “We’re disappointed to lose, we’ll put it right, I’ve raised the standard, players will raise their standard, and we’ll put it right. “We have a really exciting home game in the Emirates FA Cup against Bootle next Saturday to put it right. “Today we lost to a better team, in particular the second half, we dust ourselves down, we accept defeat, we work hard in training this week, we arrange to be tactically right next Saturday and we go and put it right against Bootle.”

STEELS SEASON TICKETS 2018/19

Stocksbridge PS 4-1 SWFC THE Stocksbridge Park Steels first team finished their pre season programme with a satisfying 4-1 win over a youthful Sheffield Wednesday side. Chris Hilton would have been disappointed to see his side concede from a corner early in the first half and they didn’t really get to grips with the midfield movement of their professional counterparts in the first half, however whatever he said at half time had an impact. Stocksbridge came out in the second half and pressed their opponents much better and soon levelled things up with a Luke Mangham goal.

Enjoying much more of the possession they took the lead when Aaron Moxom scored his first goal for the club after some excellent work down the left from Tyler Williams. Brad Beatson put the result beyond doubt with a good header from a corner. Sixteen-year-old Lewis Whitham was introduced from the bench to join other under-18 products Jordan Greaves and Ben Rhodes. And Whitham added the icing to the cake with a well taken finish inside the box to continue his impressive pre season. Chris will use the next couple of weeks to fine tune his squad ready for the first game of the season on Saturday August 18 against Stamford FC at the Look Local Stadium with a 3pm kick off.

CHAIRMAN ISSUES RALLYING CALL NEW Stocksbridge Park Steels chairman Graham Furness has issued a rallying cry to the local area for the coming season. Graham has stepped up to take the role after previous chairman Allen Bethel’s reign came to an end in the summer. He has high hopes for the club and has been busy behind the scenes, helping the club to prepare for the new season. “I’ve got big shoes to fill,” Graham says, speaking in the club dressing room. “Allen put the club where it is today and I’ve got a good foundation to start from. “We have to raise more income for the first team so that we can compete with the other teams in this division. The manager, Chris Hilton, has done a good job in his four years with the club, getting the team in a round the play-offs spots whilst also playing attractive football. “We are grateful not only to our main sponsors – Dransfield Properties, Gen Fab and Look Local – but all of the people and companies that contribute. We also have a very good partnership with Sheffield United. “But as a club we have been guilty of not promoting the good work that we do – we provide football for 350 juniors and take Christmas hampers out to the elderly. But I want us

to become even more active in the community.” A number of tasks await the High Green man but the biggest challenge the club faces, he admits, is boosting flagging attendances at Look Local Stadium. “It’s a big challenge to increase the attendances. We have excellent facilities here at Bracken Moor with the best stadium and pitch in non-league South Yorkshire football. “For £7 or £5 for concessions, you can enjoy a good standard of football with covered seating, a bar and club. With professional football getting more and more expensive to attend, non-league provides an excellent alternative. “It would be good if not just the community of Stocksbridge but also surrounding areas such as High Green and Chapeltown could support us too. It’s only 10 or 15 minutes in the car. Also, the Tramlink bus stops right outside the ground. “Come and give it a try – we look forward to welcoming you to the stadium where you also get fantastic views of the local area!” Steels play Stamford at home on Saturday August 18, then Bamber Bridge in the FA Cup on August 25 and Sheffield FC on August 27. All are 3pm kick offs.
