Hillsborough students bring the hits with Grease

SHEFFIELD College students will be performing one of the most famous and well loved musicals of all time during the festive season.

Sixty-five students are staging the romantic comedy musical Grease, which explores the highs and lows of being a teenager in the 1950s.

The story centres on two high school characters, Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski, and explores their adventures, friendships and summer romance.

Jo Beadle, Performing Arts Lecturer at The Sheffield College, said:

We’ve had a lot of fun working on this show, which is an important part of the students’ coursework and helps them to develop the skills that the performing arts industry needs.”

She added:

It’s a great, uplifting musical for the festive season and an all time favourite that appeals to a wide audience.”

The students are completing the Performing and Production Arts Level 3 qualification at Hillsborough campus, which has the latest performing arts facilities including a state-of-the-art drama theatre.

Students will be performing four shows on December 4, 5, 6 and 7 at 7.15pm in the drama theatre at the College’s Hillsborough campus on Livesey Street. For tickets, please email info@sheffcol.ac.uk.
