FA VASE EXIT FOR CHURCH

A GOAL from Shelly either side of half time dumped Penistone Church FC out of the Buildbase FA Vase in the qualifying round on Saturday. Sam Scrivens gave Church, playing front of a crowd of 255, the dream start with a goal after just five minutes but the Penistone side couldn’t get the killer second goal and they paid for it on 42 minutes when Israel Johnsen levelled the scores. And things went from bad to worse when Dan Keane gave Shelly the lead seven minutes after the break.
