Medal reunited with owner's family

BACK in October South Yorkshire Police divers found a WWI medal whilst carrying out operational duties in the River Loxley in Sheffield.

After a bit of research, they found out it belonged to Sheffield soldier Lance Corporal Stephen Smith. He was killed in action in Gallipoli in 1915, aged just 23.

Using the power of social media, the divers tracked down Stephen's relatives and they've been reunited with the medal.
