Hillsborough burglar jailed after leaving blood FORENSIC EVIDENCE USED IN CONVICTION A 24-year-old Sheffield man has been sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of burglary. Christopher Syphas, of no fixed abode, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday February 6 where he was jailed for four years, after pleading guilty to burglary. The court heard how Syphas, who has previous convictions for bur-

glary, broke into a property in Wynyard Road, Sheffield, last November. The occupant returned home to find their door smashed open, with a safe containing valuables taken. Forensic evidence, blood left at the scene, was a match for Syphas and he was subsequently charged. Detective Sergeant Lee Corker from Sheffield’s Proactive CID

Grenoside Cubs say they’re “sweet enough” GRENOSIDE Cubs have become the first scout group to take part in the Sheffield is Sweet Enough’ campaign – a public health initiative launched this month by Sheffield City Council. Boys and girls aged between eight and 10 participated in a hands-on workshop which aimed to offer an understanding of how much sugar is too much and the impact this can have on their health. The initiative aims to provide information to local people on the effects of sugar and to give them the tools they need to make educated choices that support their family’s health. It will do this by increasing awareness of the negative health impacts of consuming too much sugar and the positive actions that can be taken to combat them. Throughout the session the young people had to work out what the daily limit was for their age group and how much sugar was in common foods such as spaghetti bolognese sauce and tomato ketchup. They were taught the difference between hidden and added sugars and were given tips and advice on

how to swap sugary foods for healthier options. Grenoside Akela, Sam Caldwell, said: “Reducing the amount of sugar we give to our children helps to keep their weight under control and prevent them from obesity in the future. A healthy diet has a positive impact on their quality of life and can even help them live longer. It’s great to be part of a campaign that encourages young people and their parents to make some healthy changes for their future.” Launched this month, ‘Sheffield is Sweet Enough’ aims to reduce obesity and tooth decay in children and adults over the next five years. It is being supported by a wide range of partners including the NHS, healthcare professionals, Sheffield’s universities, Learn Sheffield, Weight Management Services, colleges, Trading Standards, and the voluntary sector. In Sheffield, almost one in four children are overweight or obese when they start school and one in three children aged 10 to 11 are overweight or obese. There are also more school children in

Sheffield being admitted to hospital for painful tooth extractions than ever before.

drinks is one of the best ways to quickly reduce the amount of sugar in children’s diets.

The recommended daily limit of added sugar for seven to 11 year olds is 24 grams, or 5.5 teaspoons. There are around 13 teaspoons in one bottle of cola – that’s more than twice the amount a young person should be consuming in one day! Cutting down on sugary

sugar that can put children’s health at risk.

There are many different reasons that can lead to obesity, but people often focus on fat content of food rather than looking at the amount of sugar being consumed. Surprisingly, sugary fizzy drinks, energy drinks, iced coffees, and even some flavoured waters can contain high amounts of

Over the coming months Sheffield schools and guiding and scouting associations will be encouraged to take part in the activities to help raise awareness of the dangers of eating too much sugar. To find out more, visit www. sheffieldissweetenough.org

Redbrik appoint area manager in key growth area for the city SHEFFIELD and North East Derbyshire’s number one estate agency has strengthened its team with the appointment of an area manager who will be responsible for serving the north west of the city. Claire Shipman, aged 42, has joined the team at Redbrik and will be offering a personalised and bespoke service for vendors and buyers. Claire said: “I am absolutely delighted to be working for Redbrik. The company is a shining light in the regional property sector, with its first-class marketing, exceptional levels of customer service and forward thinking and I am very much looking forward to continuing my career here. “The north west of Sheffield is a real growth area for Redbrik and we have great success with the properties we have already listed.

There are a number of buyers looking for homes in the area and with excellent schools, local amenities and the transport links I can see why. “I will be offering a bespoke service in my role as area manager whereby once a vendor instructs their property with Redbrik in the north west of the city, I will be their personal contact every step of the way. From the initial valuation to handling offers and providing updates I will be liaising with vendors throughout who process, which I am really looking forward to. “I am passionate about achieving the best price for my vendors in as quick a time as possible. “In my previous roles I have been a senior residential valuer, area manager as well as a senior branch manager so I have wealth of experience to draw on.”

Redbrik, which recently celebrated its seventh year in business, was ranked as the number one estate agent in the Yorkshire and Humberside region by the 2019 Best Estate Agent Guide. Mark Ross, managing director at Redbrik, added: “Claire is a key appointment for our business as we look to strengthen our market share in the north west of Sheffield. She brings lots of experience to the role and is already listing putting properties on the market, so I am sure she is going to be a real asset to the ever growing Redbrik team. “We are already excited about the opportunities for real growth in 2020, and for Redbrik to become more of an integral part of homeowner’s lives.” For more information, visit www.redbrik.co.uk.

POLICE have released these grainy images of two men they believe could hold vital information about reported criminal damage to a vehicle near Fox Valley, Stocksbridge. At 11.50pm on Saturday January 4, it is reported two men were leaving the Fox Valley centre on foot. It is understood that the men were

drinking and, on Fox Valley Way, threw their glasses over the bridge near the crossing. The glasses struck a car below the bridge, causing damage. Officers believe the men in the CCTV stills could hold information useful to their inquiry.

If you can help police, please call 101 quoting crime reference 14/123414/20. You can also give information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers via their website – www.crimestoppers-uk.org – or by calling their UK Contact Centre on 0800 555 111.

HIGH GREEN DISTRACTION BURGLARY DETECTIVES investigating a distraction burglary in the High Green area of Sheffield in November last year have released an e-fit of a man they would like to identify. At 2.15pm on Friday November 15, 2019, the 80-year-old victim was in his home when a man knocked on the door. It’s understood that the man started to discuss the guttering of the pensioner’s home, and asked him to look at the rear of the property. The victim then led the man through the house. At one point during the conversation, it’s believed the man was alone in the living room for a short time. Once the man had been asked to leave, the victim realised that money from the living room cabinet had gone missing. Detectives have now been working with the victim and created an e-fit of the man we’d like to identify. Do you recognise him? Please call 101 quoting investigation number 14/173140/19. You can also report information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers via their website – www.crimestoppers-uk.org – or by calling their UK Contact Centre on 0800 555 111.

Man arrested after fatal collision in Fox Hill A 25-year-old man has been arrested by Roads Policing officers following a fatal collision in on Saturday February 15. At approximately 5.50pm, police received reports that a woman was lying injured in the street at Fox Hill Crescent, about 20m from the junction with Edge Well Crescent, after being involved in a collision with an unidentified vehicle.

The woman, 64, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene. A 25-year-old Sheffield man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other driving offences. He is currently in custody.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a vehicle travelling through the Fox Hill area at the time of the collision, or from witnesses to the collision yet to come forward. Officers are especially keen to hear from any motorists who may hold dashcam footage. Please call 101 quoting incident number 702 of 15 February 2020.

Birch bashing rescheduled WHARNCLIFFE Heathland Trust are hoping for better weather on February 22 for a rescheduled birch bash following the cancellation of the autumn event due to heavy rain. Birch bashing involves cutting off young birch trees at ground level in order to maintain the open habitat required for heathland fauna and flora to flourish. The reserve would soon become a woodland without these measures and rare species such as the nightjar would be lost from the area.

This bash is a joint project between the Wharncliffe Heathlands Trust and Sheffield University Conservation Volunteers. The Trust will provide all the necessary tools and instructions. Would- be participants should wear stout walking boots and come prepared for cold and wet weather. Bring your own refreshments. All children and young adults under 19 must be accompanied by a parent or carer. The event starts at 11am and ends around 4pm. Meet at Lowood Club, Station Road, Deepcar S36 2SQ next to the River Don bridge (map reference SK291981).

Distraction burglary Distraction burglary is when criminals call at your home posing as officials or asking for help with something. They make up a story to get in with the intention of stealing from you. How distraction burglars operate Some work alone, but often they work in groups of two or more. Usually one person will knock at your door with a convincing excuse that seems genuine or urgent The talker will persuade you to let them into your home and keep you occupied whilst others sneak in and search for cash and valuables They can be men, women or children and sometimes a combination, smartly or casually dressed Common lies distraction burglars use… “I’m from the waterboard, there’s a leak down the road I need to check your water supply.” This will never be true. The phrase “waterboard” is no longer used by legitimate callers – only distraction burglars. Don’t open the door, even if they say “It’s an emergency.” “I need to read your meter.” Check with your utility company before you let them in. You can call

the freephone Home Heat Helpline on 0800 33 66 99 or your water company directly. You may also be able to joinyour utility provider’s password scheme. “We’re the police, we’ve caught a burglar. We think he’s stolen your cash and we need to check your money is safe.” Genuine police officers never do this. Don’t let them in. If you find someone already in your home who says they’re from the police, call the real police on 999 straight away Protect yourself from distraction burglars Lock your back door and close windows before you answer the door Use a spy hole and chain to check who the caller is before you answer Ask to see the caller’s ID, even if they have made an appointment to see you, and call their company yourself (not on a number they provide) to check they are genuine Never leave the door open and unattended - close it until you return Ask the caller to return another time when someone can be with you.

How to beat Str8ts – Like Sudoku, no single number can repeat in any row or column. But... rows and columns are divided by black squares into compartments. These QHHG WR EH ÂżOOHG LQ ZLWK QXPEHUV WKDW complete a ‘straight’. A straight is a set of numbers with no gaps but can be in any order, eg [4,2,3,5]. Clues in black cells remove that number as an option in that row and column, and are not part of any straight. Glance at the solution to see how ‘straights’ are formed.

Fox Valley Santa visits raise money for local charity SANTA and his helpers have raised £264 for The Rotary Club of Wortley in the run up to Christmas at Fox Valley. The special Santa visits took place on Saturday December 14 and Sunday December 15 at the busy north Sheffield shopping centre. Every young shopper who visited the centre received a special Christmas gift and all the money raised over the two days has now been donated to the Rotary Club of Wortley who organised the Santa visits. The Club is a local charitable group which takes part in lots of fundraising activities throughout the year, including visits from Father Christmas across the region in the run up to Christmas. The donation from the Fox Valley Santa visits will be given to a Sheffield based charity called SToRMS -

Strategies to Reduce Male Suicide. SToRMS was set up in July 2015 with the goal of reducing young male suicides and improving lives of local people. Events Manager at Fox Valley Kayleigh Marron said: “It wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa and we’re delighted to have been able to help raise this great amount of money for a fantastic local cause from December’s visits. We’d like to thank the team at the Rotary Club of Wortley and all the families who came along to see Santa.” Philip Sherriff, from the Rotary Club said: “We are delighted to have worked with the Fox Valley team in the run up to Christmas again last year and look forward to planning for 2020.” To keep up to date with events and news at Fox Valley visit https://www. foxvalleysheffield.co.uk/

On Wednesday February 5, members of the church were given a presentation by Dave from Yorkshire Air Ambulance, enjoyed a nice cup of tea and some home made cakes.

In 2019, they did exceptionally well and raised £1,800.

They then went on to the presentation of the cheques

Stocksbridge man Iain co-founded the PHA UK 20 years ago to support people living with pulmonary hypertension (PH), a serious lung disease which also affects the heart. The charity works across the UK and has over 4,500 members. Iain has worked within the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for 30 years and in 2005 became the first nurse consultant to work in pulmonary vascular disease. He said: “It was an immense surprise to find out I was shortlisted for this award. I’ve seen lots of developments during my 30 years working in respiratory nursing and it feels brilliant to be recognised in this way.”

The Sheffield Pulmonary Vascular Disease Unit is one of just eight specialist PH treatment centres in the UK. Chris Morley, chief nurse at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I am delighted that Iain has been nominated for this award, his dedication and care for our patients over the last 30 years is certainly worthy of this recognition. He is a credit to his team and the Trust and has made a huge difference to patients with pulmonary vascular disease both here in Sheffield and nationally.” In May 2019, Iain was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal College of Nursing in recognition of a professional career dedicated to supporting people affected by pulmonary hypertension.

WOMEN have always known that hair becomes more difficult to style and maintain with age. But experts now confirm that it does indeed age along with our skin and bodies.

Whenever hair is neglected or abused its strength starts to decline, no matter what your age. However, ageing hair is far more delicate and

needs a little extra tender loving care. Hair actually starts to age after the age of 25. Each strand shrinks 10 per cent in diameter and may become duller due to loss of the colour pigment melanin. Just like prematurely aged skin, hair can also be prematurely aged by abuse and misuse of chemicals and heat styling tools. Signs include weakness or brittleness, dryness, flaking scalp, split ends and an extra fine and frizzy texture. Ageing hair needs to be strengthened and moisturised by the right combination of products. This can be easily achieved with a daily care regime as well as the right haircut. Celebrity New York hair designer Philip Pelusi rec-

ommends that ageing hair be cut and styled a little differently. He says softer, loose curls or waves make anyone appear younger, whereas sharp angles and severe shapes will have the opposite effect.

Pelusi also suggests that ageing hair looks at its best when treated to softer, slightly lighter hair colour with varying tones. Dark, solid shades must be avoided. Hair colour also needs to complement skin and eye colour, so a consultation with a skilled salon colourist is advisable. Pelusi offers his top 10 anti-ageing tips for hair. Use products specifically designed to rejuvenate ageing hair. Dove Pro-Age shampoo and conditioner

is specifically made for ageing hair, but your hairdresser can tailor-make a hair care regime for you. Follow the regime consistently for best results. Treat your hair to regular salon hair and scalp treatments for deep, intense conditioning.

Supply nutrients to your hair through a healthy diet and supplements of essential fatty acids. Hair is definitely a reflection of inner health. Drink plenty of water to keep skin and hair hydrated. Exercise helps maintain a healthy blood flow to the scalp. This will help encourage healthy hair growth.

Maintain a relaxation programme to keep stress at bay. Stress can take its toll on the health of your hair and skin. Get plenty of rest. Proper sleep is very important to maintain the health of the entire body, including the hair. Keep the scalp in its optimum healthy state. A healthy scalp means healthy hair. Treat wet hair with tender loving care. Apply a detangling product before combing it and use a wide toothed comb only. Never brush wet hair as it will break. Sleep on a satin pillowcase to reduce friction on the hair, which can cause breakage.

Since October 19 to present we have experienced a higher than normal amount of water running down Underbank Lane.

jumped over the fence and started with a shovel after he explained that it would be unsafe with a machine.

My son, Toby Fletcher, and staff and neighbours have fought all hours of the day to protect my business and property along Manchester Road, eventually knocking a wall down on our property to divert the water back into the river.

He started prodding away and found the outlet where he thought it was from the maps they brought. Within the hour, a single person cleared the exit of the culvert and the majority of the water went back into the river.

However, on Sunday February 9, the rain caught us unaware - we weren’t expecting the amount of water that ran down Underbank hence we (my business) got flooded.

Over this last weekend, we had Storm Dennis and both myself and my son have been watching it around here quite intensely. But due to the lad from Highways, I think we have cured the excess of water that comes down Underbank. The Highways are this week bringing a machine to clear the culvert out properly. However, it will need regular site visits and clearing to keep the water going where it should.

Floods

It’s time Labour Councillors stopped pretending we can turn the clock back forty years and started demanding serious change with South Yorkshire PTE before our dwindling “service” is no more. If they can’t do it, I’m sure there are others that can!

Help shape our traffic cops priorities

Your Letters

It’s that time again where you can help shape our traffic cops priorities for the next three months. Last year in September over 2000 people have had their say on what our Road Policing Team priorities should be for the next three months- this was the second successful survey carried out by the team.

The results showed 1048 (48%) of you want officers to tackle drivers who drive under the influence of Why are our bus services so drink and drugs. 971 (41%) of you want officers to tackle drivers who use vehicles in an anti-social poor? manner. 916 (39%) of you want officers to target I read with interest the letters from Councillor those who use a mobile while driving. Adam Hurst last week and Councillor Andy Bainbridge the week before, blaming de-regulation Roads Policing Inspector Jason Booth explains for the state of our bus services. Both state “The why your response is important, he said: “Firstly I Council have had very little control over public would like to thank everyone who takes the time to transport since the Tories de-regulated buses in complete our survey. the 1980s.” “We want to tackle matters that mean the most to Councillor Hurst also wants public transport our communities alongside our day-to-day work brought back under public control so “local people of disrupting and denying criminals the use of our can decide the routes, timetables and fares rather road network. than profit driven bus companies”. “Since we have been gathering your views, we have Why is it, then, that the West Midlands Bus implemented a dedicated traffic car that patrols Alliance has operated successfully since 2012 with identified ‘hot spot’ areas, carried out regular one company, National Express, operating 78% of operations in partnership with the DVLA and the routes in partnership with a number of other partners and also held our first Operation Duxford, bus companies? Why do they have frequent and which focused on speeding. timely bus services which are well utilised? How “We would like to hope that people who follow our can the bus companies have invested in over 350 social media channels frequently see that we are new environmentally friendly vehicles without working hard to make the roads of South Yorkshire running a successful and profitable operation? The safer. answer is that their model of operation is a success, and South Yorkshire’s isn’t. “Please have your say, complete the survey and help us shape our work for the future months.” It’s about time South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive and the four local councils (Sheffield, The survey can be completed here and will remain Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster) accepted open until Monday 2 March 2020. that the partnership model that they operate has h t t p s : / / w w w. s n a p s u r v e y s . c o m / w h / s . let down the travelling public. asp?k=155309464212 Their system of managed decline has been an abject failure. Do they understand the law of diminishing returns? Once the service gets below a half hourly frequency, coupled with unreliability, then the travelling public have no option other than to resort to other forms of transport such as taxis. Since last September, the 135 First bus hourly service (Sheffield to Rotherham via High Green), which doesn’t go to High Green after 6pm and not at all on a Sunday is regularly empty. So is the M92 service from Harley to Hillsborough. This used to have half a dozen passengers when it was hourly, now it’s two hourly with just four return journeys a day and no passengers. It doesn’t matter whether it’s privately or publicly operated, no passengers means no revenue, and the taxpayer has to bail out the operation. I’ve raised buses and school buses in the Council Chamber many times over the last two years, including being promised a “root and branch review” from the Cabinet Member for Transport and Development. Sadly, nothing has happened, and we appear to be sat waiting now for the bus services to be funded by public money from the South Yorkshire Region when government funding finally heads to South Yorkshire. If government funding is the solution, then it should only be given when the current partnership is scrapped,

Since the heavy floods of 2007, we are unable to secure insurance for flood so now we have to fight every time to try to save what we have. However, on the said Sunday, we went up Underbank and found excessive water coming from a culvert just under the A616. We checked with land registry to find out who is responsible and found it to be Highways England. On the Monday, I set about telephoning whoever I could get hold of throughout the week. I eventually, after a lot of ringing and shall I say demanding, managed to get a senior advisor from Highways to come visit and after seeing the pictures and videos was shocked to see how bad it was. We ventured up to the culvert and I showed him picture before and after but we could not find the outlet that runs to the river at the bottom of Underbank. A young lad from the Highways

I would like to thank neighbours that have praised my son on social media for all he and the staff have done to help them out with sand bagging etc. We will still get the water running down from Underbank due to the drains that are all blocked or damaged on Manchester Road – I think that may be another job to chase with Sheffield City Council. Stocksbridge Rugby glory in defeat Bramley Phoenix 14-7 Stocksbridge

Local Sport ERNEST THORPE Halifax Road, Thurgoland 0114 2882152

MOT’s £35.00 NO BOOKING REQUIRED

Mon - Fri 8.30 am - 5.00pm Sat 8.30 am - 12.00 noon STOCKSBRIDGE Rugby produced a heroic performance in dreadful conditions at the weekend and can count themselves very unlucky not to have come away from their trip to West Yorkshire with a win, having to settle for a losing bonus point in a narrow 14-7 loss to table toppers Bramley Phoenix. This defeat, their third in the play offs, effectively ends any slender hopes of promotion. However, there are plenty of positives for head coach Rhys Keenan to take from their efforts. Still without several first team regulars through injury, Keenan recalled Aaron Brown to partner Jack Spencer at half back, Luke Gentles earned a starting berth on the wing and Jonathan Gill was given his senior debut.

The pitch was like a glue pot and a swirling wind added to the difficulties of facing the league leaders on their own patch. Despite some early encouragement with skipper Rowett leading the way and the bulky Gary Woodcock causing mayhem in the loose, it was the home team who took the lead as they outflanked the visitors with just about their first serious attack to score under the posts. Stocksbridge responded, going through the phases with Whitaker and Pete Newton linking up well and going close. Scrum half Brown kept the forwards on the offensive and the dominant Stocksbridge scrum ensured a good supply of ball. Bramley cleared their lines as far as Bowskill, who found space to release veteran flyer Joe Jones with a

turn of pace from yesteryear to create an opportunity, which resulted in the home side conceding a penalty. The difficult conditions proved just too much for Bowskill’s goal kicking to overcome.

scrum and penalty after penalty eventually pushed the official too far and the Stocksbridge efforts were rightly rewarded with a sevenpoint penalty try and the game was there for the taking.

Bramley attacked and a wellworked backs move produced some excellent handling and off loading to breach the Stocksbridge defence and increase their lead at a crucial point just before half time, leaving the score 14-0 to Bramley Phoenix.

A similar pattern followed, the same events, the same indiscretions, but not the same result this time, with no penalty awarded.

Keenan introduced the burly figure of Liam Roebuck, along with himself, to add more weight to the scrum, as around 85% of the second stanza was played in the Bramley half. The luckless Reese Aspin succumbed to a shoulder injury and was replaced by the young and improving Jack Martin. Scrum after

The mighty scrum effort totally dominated but Stocksbridge were unable to add to the points total as skipper Rowett was replaced by debutant Jonathan Gill. The official did yellow card a home player for persistent offending but still no further sanctions were forthcoming. With time running out, the home side just about hung on and were relieved to hear the final whistle with Stocksbridge winning the second half but losing the match.

Briscoe wins easy at Wombwell GARY Briscoe chalked up another win on a wet and blustery Sunday morning in Wombwell. The Penistone runner finished the five mile race in 27-03 almost two minutes clear of the second placed runner. Teammate Sam Shaw just missed out on winning the ladies race. Sam was overtaken in the final stages of

the race but still managed to claim second place and set a new club record for the over-35 ladies category in 31-36. The Penistone men’s team of Gary Briscoe, Hugh Mackie (29-28) and Martin Ball (29-52) claimed first place. Sixteen-year-old Hugh Mackie had a very strong race finishing fourth overall and first under-17 male.

There was further success for Penistone in the age categories. Bill Phillips claimed first over-70 male in 36-22 and Barbara Haigh was second over-70 lady in 47-37. Tony Wright (31-15) and Robin Clough (31-33) were second and third respectively in the men’s over-50 category. Gary Briscoe in action (Photo by Steve Frith)

“A heartbreaking Valentine weekend,” was how supremo Keenan described the result. “We were the better side and deserved to win. These are the top of the table and we outplayed them all over their own park.” A Trojan effort from back rower Pete Newton, sponsored by S&M Pipe work, secured him the Bradfield Brewery man of the match award, with Middlehurst, Whitaker and Woodcock also producing the goods. Stocksbridge Rugby get a week off this week, as they prepare for round four of the play offs with Halifax Rugby the next visitors to Coal Pit Lane on February 29. Kick off is 2.15pm and entry is free.

STEELS RUN COMES TO AN END Stamford AFC 3-0 Stocksbridge PS

STOCKSBRIDGE Park Steels travelled to second placed Stamford Town last Saturday on the back of a sevengame unbeaten run. But like all runs must, the winning streak came to an end with a 3-0 defeat. The game was badly affected by the strong winds and rain the country was enduring. Steels had the wind at their backs in the first half and enjoyed most of the possession. But keeping the ball in play was a task in itself. Stamford’s keeper made a fine save to tip over a Lemon free kick. Carney had little to do in the Steels goal in the first half and the teams changed ends level at 0-0. Steels knew they would have to soak up lots of pressure in the second half and started defending well but when one clearance fell to a Stamford forward, he clinically despatched it past Carney. Going behind didn’t deter Steels and they forced a couple of corners of their own. Unfortunately, from one their attacks, they lost the ball on the edge of the opposition box with Stamford counter-attacking. Although Carney forced the attacker wide, he turned and curled a shot into the top corner that was assisted by the wind. Steels reacted well and had a chance of their own cleared off the line. The third goal came with the very last kick of the game following a free kick The scoreline was harsh on Stocksbridge because this was far from a thrashing and they gave as good as they got. Despite the result, Steels remain in fifth place and are still in the play off positions. This Saturday, they play third-placed Belper FC at the Look Local Stadium with a 3pm kick off. Your support would be much appreciated to help with the promotion push.
