Rescue team come to aid of injured biker

WOODHEAD Mountain Rescue Team were called out at 2.26pm on Saturday March 7 to an injured mountain biker in Grenoside Woods.

Luckily, a fellow mountain biker, also an off duty medic, witnessed the casualty in a state of unconsciousness and was able to care for the gentleman until MRT arrived.

The casualty was packaged as a precaution in a vacuum mattress and carried by stretcher to the waiting Yorkshire Ambulance Service for onward travel to hospital.
