A number of hardy Penistone runners took on the Hathersage Hurtle. The 20 mile race takes place in the Hope Valley and involves 2,800 feet of ascent.

Next in and first lady back for the club was Lesley Parker in a time of 3-27-03. lady. Simon Pike and Dan Limb both finished in the top five at the Canal Canter 5 mile race. Simon was 4th in 3341 and Dan 5th in 34-24.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES · Answering general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures, making new and follow-up appointments and receiving requests for repeat prescriptions. · Utilise the Systmone clinical system to ensure efficiency of appointment system and monitor flow of patients to clinics. · Receive and convey messages verbally and electronically. · Sort and Process Incoming mail following the document management protocol. · Process pharmacy and 3rd party prescription requests. · Process Insurance/Solicitor Reports within agreed timescale, including scanning to secure disc. · Processing new patient registrations, amendments and deductions. · Assist patients in completing surgery forms and understanding of instructions. Experience with the Systmone clinical software is desirable but not essential. The post includes membership of the NHS pension scheme. “Last Saturday saw the second of Birdwell Wheelers Open Time Trials on the 10 mile course at Hatfield Woodhouse. In the standard road bike event Joe Woodhouse of Birdwell Wheelers recorded a time of 28m 12s, placing him 5th, 5m 9s behind the winner Casper Raynard of Leeds Uni CC.

In the TT bike event Andrew Whiteley of Team Lifting Gear was fastest in 21m 17s winning the Taylor

Trophy and fastest woman was Elaine Simpson of Sherwood CC in 25m 34s winning the Jim Carr Trophy

Tuesday saw the 2nd club event of the season on a 15km circuit at Thurnscoe. Fastest on the night was Wheeler Trevor Mayne in 24m 22s beating fellow Wheeler Paul Heggie into 2nd place in 29m 31s. The first of the club’s 15 mile time trials comprising five

laps of the same Thurnscoe course is on Tuesday June 7th.
