As families up and down South Yorkshire send their children back to school after the summer holidays, we know it’s usual for children to catch common viruses and bugs. Whether this is their first term or their fifth year, it’s vital for families to take some sim ple steps to reduce the spread of illnesses and keep children well.
NHS South Yorkshire and the Children and Young Person’s Alliance (NHS SY CYP) are encouraging parents to be prepared, as chil dren across the region head back to school.

As the weather turns colder, cold and flu vi ruses circulating can make respiratory con ditions worse. Children who have asthma should take their asthma preventor inhaler regularly and their reliever should be avail able at school or in their school bag.
At the start of term, families must make sure their children or young people are up to date with their vaccinations. Vaccines are the best protection we have against dangerous viruses like flu.

Setting up Lasting Powers of Attorney
Ms Tanner added: “Nobody is more disappointed than Mr Pryor himself
The Queen demonstrated during her reign the true spirit of public service and integrity, and the significance of the military service. As Her Majesty poignantly once said: “I can not lead you into battle. I do not give you laws or administer justice but I can do something else – I can give my heart and my devotion to these old islands and to all the peoples of our brotherhood of nations.”
We would like to invite members of the public to celebrate the life of Her Majesty the Queen by sharing your memories of her in our on line open book of condolence at dedicationpage.org/rememberingthequeenhttps://rafbf.
He told Pryor: “The offending you have now committed is the same one in so many ways. You were caught by a sting which was being run by a pro tective group here in Sheffield.”
And while social care is in dire need of prop er resourcing, we must reiterate that doing this by removing money from the NHS at this time of deep crisis, as is being suggested, would be completely disastrous for patients.
It’s concerning to hear her defaulting back to the pay review body and decision made under her predecessor to exclude swathes of doctors from even the paltry sub-inflation pay award this year. We’d be more than will ing to meet with her and explain why this is grossly unfair, and how it is within hers and the Government’s gift to avert a collision course with the profession.
Ms Earnshaw explained Pryor be gan communicating sexually with the decoy on WhatsApp in June and discussed kissing, cuddling, and un dressing her.
BMA calls for Health Secretary to lay out NHS emergency plan
Prosecuting barrister Amy Earnshaw told the hearing on September 6 how 26-year-old Pryor was given a com munity order but in June, this year, he struck up a sexual online 13-yearold girl which had been set up by a paedophile hunter group called De

patients first’. Doctors will always put their patients first, and if Dr Coffey wants to do the same, she needs to value, look after and retain staff, so they can continue doing so.
If they want to make a real difference, they need to understand the severe crisis the whole health service is in, and the unprecedented pressures doctors and their colleagues are un der in an understaffed and under-resourced system. While the PM says she will make sure everyone can get a doctor’s appointment, you cannot create extra appointments out of thin air, or without the doctors to do them.
Crucially, this means paying them what they are worth, reversing more than a decade of real-terms pay cuts, and tackling pension taxation rules that are driving our most ex perienced doctors away from the health ser vice when they’re needed most.
Yours sincerely,
An online “predator” with a previ ous conviction has been caged af ter he was trapped by a paedophile hunter group posing with a decoy profile of a 13-year-old girl, wrties Jon Cooper for the Sheffield Star.
Pryor pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching a previously Sexual Harm Prevention Order after possessing two phones capable of internet con nection and by contacting someone online who was believed to be a child, and he also admitted attempting to sexually communicate with a child.
Judgeage.Kelson revoked Pryor's previ ous community order for the three counts of attempting to sexually com municate with a child, and the three counts of attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act, and he chose to resentence the defendant for these matters alongside his new offences.
Ms Earnshaw said a further decoy contact was deployed by the paedo phile hunter group and a meeting was arranged at Deerlands Avenue where the group attended and alert ed the police.
by letting himself down by commit ting these offences. He accepts what he has done has placed him in an ex tremely vulnerable position and he accepts he has no one else to blame but himself.
REMEMBERING HER MAJESTY
Judge Peter Kelson QC told Pryor: “You have shown yourself to be a predator. A person who wishes to prey upon children. You have been given a chance of a non-custodial sentence and you have spurned that
Luke Pryor, formerly of Deerlands Avenue, Parson Cross, Sheffield, was originally convicted in 2020 for three counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and for three counts of attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act, according to a Sheffield Crown Court
Rebecca Tanner, defending, said Pry or had become socially isolated and had developed poor health and after he was bailed he lost his address and he does not yet have a home.
Judge Kelson sentenced Pryor to two years of custody and the defendant was made subject to a restrictive Sex ual Harm Prevention Order to run alongside his Sex Offender Register monitoring for 10 years.
As the nation mourns the death of Her Maj esty the Queen, the RAF Benevolent Fund would like to celebrate her life, and unwav ering dedication to the country following a historic 70 years on the throne. The Queen showed an inspirational sense of duty during her reign and, as the RAF Benevolent Fund’s Patron from 1952 until her death, provided endless support for those who served her country, including the RAF Family.
It was somewhat bizarre to hear the new Health Secretary talk of record numbers of staff in the NHS, when we have 130,000 va cancies in secondary care in England alone, and have lost the equivalent of almost 2,000 full-time GPs in England since 2015 when the Conservatives began pledging to recruit 5,000 more. For patients waiting for hours on trolleys and in ambulances, or struggling to get an appointment at their practice, or the healthcare workers battling to provide care amid rota gaps and workforce shortages, these comments will seem completely out of Ourtouch.members are working at their absolute limits and we urge her to meet with us at the earliest opportunity to discuss how she can begin to create a sustainable NHS and bring forward the solutions needed to value clini cians so they can continue providing the care that patients so desperately need.
The Health Secretary, inheriting a health service in greater crisis than any of her pre decessors, must urgently come forth with her emergency plan for the NHS, laying out exactly how the Government will deliver on both her and the Prime Minister’s priorities around doctors and patients’ access to care.
Our message to both the Health Secretary and Prime Minister is this: work with us, the voice of the profession, at this critical mo ment for the health service, not against us, to make good on your pledge to put the NHS on a firm footing. Doctors are the solution, not the problem.”

Her Majesty tirelessly supported the Fund’s work for decades – with some highlights in cluding the unveiling of the Fund’s Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park, London; visiting children at the Fund’s Airplay youth club at RAF Lossiemouth in 2014; viewing the RAF Benevolent Fund Garden at Chelsea Flower Show 2022; and the Patron’s Lunch on the Mall to celebrate The Queen’s 90th birth day, which RAF Benevolent Fund Ambas sador Jacqui Thompson attended and said of The Queen’s appearance: “The sun came out for her and shined.”
