It is always important to know and apply the necessary safety measures to minimize the possibility of accidents. One of the first causes of the dirty roof, in addition to the purity or impurity of the air in the environment, is the proximity of large trees that in addition to releasing their fruits, leaves, and branches that dirty the roof. Also, produces shadows maintaining the humidity of the high surface all which ends up being an ideal environment for the appearance of fungus. Mold can grow on a tile roof if it is in the shade and does not have the opportunity to dry, even if the tiles are new. Moldy shingles are more likely to break and cause leaks. The sooner one notices the presence of mold, the easier it will be to remove it. There are companies specialized in roof cleaning, which will do a great job, however, a proper supervision by the owner of the house is indispensable. There are also several techniques for the roof wash. Each company has its preferred method, but in general, they can be listed in: Washing the roof with pressure, washing the roof without pressure, washing the roof with chemicals, and the so-called eco-washes, in which no chemicals are used but the washing with water under low pressure. Among the most used chemicals are chlorine and ammonia. In addition, there are several solutions with different concentrations based on these elements. Some of these solutions can be very harmful to the garden, so you have to wash abundantly with water to dilute it once it is removed from the ceiling. Also, it is important the training of the personnel who will be washing the roof, because if the roof is made of tiles, they can end up broken if you do not know where to step. If at the end, you decide to do the roof cleaning yourself here are some tips. -Mix a solution of 50 percent water and 50 percent chlorine and place the solution in a spray. Pump to pressurize the sprayer. - Start spraying at the bottom, or at the edges work a couple of rows horizontally at a time. Never let an area be exposed to the solution for more than 20 minutes or for less than 15 minutes. - After 15 minutes, perform a roof wash to remove the solution using a garden hose. Never spray water from the ground, pulling water up; Take the hose on the ceiling and gently rinse the chlorine solution. It uses very little pressure to do this because you do not have to remove the particles embedded in the tile, which would reduce its useful life. - Repeat the steps in rebellious areas, and try to gently brush the areas with a thick growth of mold. - Finally, if the humidity in the roof is high, it is advisable to do this maintenance twice a year.
