• $17,000 scholarship is awarded to selected applicants.

Program at Loras College is a unique and vibrant four-year experience. Its goal is to challenge and engage the whole student, helping you to develop academically, spiritually, personally and socially while learning what it means to be a Catholic thinker and leader in today’s modern world. Made possible by a generous $15-million donation from Paul (’60) and Frances Breitbach, students have made a big impact at Loras and beyond since the first class of Breitbach scholars entered in the fall of 2007.

For more information on the program, check out Daniel and Luisa’s experiences and learn what it means to be a Catholic thinker and leader in the modern world.

What the program has provided me is quite simple and amazing. I have been gifted with a group of my best friends with different personalities, but the same level of passion toward life. Father Wathier and the classes have stimulated my brain and matured my understanding of the Church and my existence beyond my expectations. The generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Breitbach has simply changed my life.

Incredible and challenging courses, service projects, retreats and the unforgettable trip to Italy have instilled in me the desire to be a great leader and to be a life-long learner. Now a music teacher at a Catholic elementary school, I am taking my experiences and helping to shape the future as a Catholic servant to others.
