1. The Project Focused on the design of a Polifunctional Centerin the North of Italy. (Bolzano) The Goals of the Laboratory are calculate the best orientation for the building justified by the geographical and metereological Analysis. The building is devolepped two levels, computing the maximum area to be placed for each functon. From Trentino site where it is located, the building incorporates voluntarily morphology and style of “Maso” (agricultural high mountain huts), creating a feeling warmth and refuge in the host wanted to visit him. The zones are arranged in terrace near the main café and Polyvalent room trying to optimize protection from the cold winter and the irradiation area to the south prerogative of the lab is fit in costs and maximum areas for each project environment, taking care to plan benefits mobility for the disabled and furniture for plants. Even this was required the use of wood as a material for the structural frame, manufactured according to the techniques of the “Platform Frame” very beneficial in terms of cost and performance in the high mountains and was drafted a estimated bill of quantities with 2 solutions for coverage. The project has been designed in further detail in its fixtures (creating a schedule for all the windows and doors) and in its vertical and horizontal stratifications.

-Lynbaan-Rotterdam, Holland “Building on Built� The project involves the review of
a residential block and the construction of new public functions within a block in the center of Rotterdam. Three buildings in line with different heights and a park in common characterize the block, which borders the Schouwburgplein and Lynbaan (commercial axis); two elements fundamental attractors of the city. The panoramic views of the adjacent square has been so exploited making the majority of the new features on the residential block lower, following up and reinforcing the structure into walls and pillars already present. Strategy of the project, starting from the visual and the main reference was to create a dynamic volumes that involved simultaneously building occupants and users of on-line square and next to the commercial district. In this way it was thought a set of spaces dedicated to the study, well-being and to work with a new student house and interacting with existing buildings through a series of connections suspended. The attention has been devoted above all to the study of solar of the site and to the practicability of the site, creating a new system of terraces ascending drivers to the first volume suspended and can be used for relaxation and entertainment. The main structure was then analyzed by choosing a system of reticular beams and slabs of reinforced concrete.

Prof. Eng. Sante Mazzacane “Project of sustainible unifamiliar house” -Rimini, Italy
The object of the design is a small residential building for a household of 5 persons. The building must have spatial and functional flexibility to be divided in the future in two independent units. Starting from the form of a cube of 13 meter for each side, the ‘objective of the exercise is to optimize the ratio between volume and surface dispersant heated in relation to the contextualization of choice for the project. A second objective of the project is the construction of a building that respects the principle of “nearly zero energy building”, taking into account the consumption related to heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting. The building is explored in its interface with the external environment (closures) and the minimization of energy consumption. Similarly define the interior partitions. Starting from the study of the prevailing winds and solar radiation angles the cube has been properly excavated to create new open spaces shaded area in the south and small openings to prevent sudden cooling of the rooms to the north. The wooden structure Xlam allows maximum energy gain in relation to climatic excursions and the optimization of costs. The outer coating is designed for a versatile summer and winter utility completes the aesthetic form of the cube.

Architectural design lab iii Prof. Alessandro Gaiani-Elisa Poli-Andrea Bellodi “DIGscover” Refurbishment of Le Piaggie quartier of FIRENZE The project area lies within an area of Le Piagge, peripheral fraction of Florence and is characterized by a strong presence of poorly maintained green spaces and residential buildings that de-qualify the district. The masterplan the project takes the road structure and topography of a quarry. The project will in fact spread over 3 levels the height of a single storey, characterized by a functional layout with commercial premises on the ground floor with views of single and multi-family apartments on the upper floors with double facing and entrance to the upper floor. Lot starting provided a central area formed by the depression of the Ex-Marble Cave and subjected to bond of ban on building for flood risk, being directly linked with the river Arno. The harshness of this place has therefore been exploited by regularizing the topography in the quarry terraces and back in a cove of filtered water. Similarly, reasoning in altitudes it was possible to restrict the inner rings only to pedestrian, assigning vehicular traffic to a road outside and to an underground parking. The theme of void and “excavation” (DIG) is reflected in the shape of public and private buildings, creating a real circuit of ramps and paths to discover that insinuates itself between the houses and surrounds the oasis of the water canal.

The Project starts from the construction planning of Benard Buhler, an extrovert and creativre architect of France. His popular project reflect the concept of Less is More where the buildings are created to make an availability for several hundreds of a low-income range families of France. The Masterplan expectsd 80 lodgment socieax, spread in six different tipologies that accept six different kind of families. All the type are very minimal and People could cohabit in a very good quartier.. Every building is caractherized by two level and sometimes one family is separated by the family of the other floor. But the mind of Buhler already had thought about privacy and families necessity, so the people could live in good state of quiet. The university project try to visualize possible suggestions of the Interior and the daily forniture of people living.
