Proposal Problem:

826 Valencia wishes to increase their exposure to parents and possible donors. The website has no clear hierarchy and is heavy with content, making it difficult to navigate. Due to the nature of the organization, the pirate store and the tutoring center are treated with two separate entities.

Solution:

Design a new identity for the writing center that sets itself from the store, while still incorporating the pirate theme. Create mailer collateral for the writing center to promote the services offered and increase exposure. Re-design the website that utilizes the new brand, creates visual hierarchy, and has better organization of the information.

We the Dreamers

Workshop | Title | Author | School

In this collection of essays by 50 juniors at John O’Connell High School, young writers reflect on what the American Dream means to them. The students recount stories about family, home, immigration, hardship, and the hopes of their generation as well as those of the generation that raised them. The result is a first hand account of these essayists’ often complicated relationship with our national ethos that is insightful, impassioned, surprising, and of utmost importance to our understanding of what the American Dream means for their generation. With a foreword by Daniel Alarcón.
