Welcome to the 2nd Annual Northern Lights Breeders Group sale. Our goal is to breed and promote quality AQHA and APHA horses and to be able to market them locally and in a fair and honest manner. With one very successful sale under our belt, we have had many good reports on horses purchased at last years sale. This includes some of the top broke horses right down to very happy customers that have started some of their prospects. Our group members all come from working ranches, with some of them being community pasture managers, so there are many miles and hours put into training these horses which allows them to be used in many different events and activities. The knowledge and experience of this group can take you and your horses to the next level. Once again, we will be hosting our sale at the Lloydminster Ex. Every effort will be made by their staff and our group members to make the sale a very safe environment in our unknown world. Phone bidding will be available and if there are any health restrictions it may be the busiest form of bidding that day. Our very capable sales staff or any group members will be able to help with your phone bids.

Prize is a 15.1 HH, 1200 lb stallion that we are very proud to say we raised. He has lots of foot & bone under him and has the halter horse look. We put a month of riding on this guy as a three-year-old and he was very athletic, easy to train and had a nice stop on him. His grandsire Mighty Awesome has a Superior and a ROM in halter, a total of 150 halter points & is also a World Champion. We also raised his excellent producing dam who was out of an own daughter of Scribbles, APHA Champion, Superior Halter, Superior Western Pleasure & Leading Sire in almost every event. Gold Contender & Mr Norfleet were both APHA Champions as well. With just one of his foals in the sale this year, we look forward to what this young sire will do for our breeding program in the future.

Pine is a 15 HH, very eye appealing gelding that is laid back, wants to please and takes everything in stride. He has been ridden in hills, through bush and crosses creeks with ease. We sorted some pairs off him this spring and will continue his cattle work this summer and fall. His grandsire, Hickory Smoked Chex, won over $50,000 in the reining pen. His dam is one of our favorite & best-looking Cowboy Masterpiece daughters, who was out of an own daughter of AQHA Champion Barry Pine. Nick is a super nice, gentle 5-year-old gelding that has the potential to go any direction you want. He was raised here on the ranch, started as a 4-year-old and has been easy to work with. He has progressed through his training very willing and trusting. I started and rode Nick’s sire Dimes Are Thin for several years and used him as my go to ranch horse for doctoring, branding, snubbing colts, etc. He was also my heel horse for jackpots and amateur rodeos. He won several events including an AQHA National Championship as a head horse. Dime passed away in 2015 and Nick is the last of his get to carry on a super disposition and athletic ability in the rope pen or pasture. I have also started and ridden several full brothers and sisters to Nick that have all gone on to be outstanding ranch/rodeo horses. Nick has been started tracking live cattle and the hot heels and by sale day may have stopped or turned a few. He’s been ridden out on the trails and pastures checking fence and cows & displays a really confident and trustworthy attitude doing it all. By sale day I will also have spent a week in the mountains with him. First horse to meet you at the gate, easy to trim, shoe, bath, load, tie, etc. Nice head and hip on him and should finish out around 15 – 15.1 HH. Cheques will be made out to Northern Lights Breeders Group Inc. 5% GST will be charged.
4. Registration papers will be mailed out after cheques have cleared. Buyers will pay the transfer fees. 5. All sellers will provide a halter and lead rope with each horse. All horses are halter broke.
6. Every effort has been made to insure correctness of pedigree names, numbers and official records. Any known corrections will be made at sale time. Announcements from the auction stand will take precedence over printed matter in the catalog. 7. Owners warrant each horse to be sound with the exception of obscure blemishes or defects. Any condition to the contrary will be announced.
8. Sale personnel and auctioneer do not act as agents for or represent either buyer or seller, but merely provide a medium for bringing together buyer and seller for the purpose of sales transactions. 9. A Brand Inspector will be at the sale to assist buyers with rapid departures of their purchases.
10. Every effort has been made to secure sound horses. Buyers are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED and have the RESPONSIBILITY to examine horses before bidding. THERE ARE NO FURTHER GUARANTEES! 11. Horses become the buyers risk and responsibility after they are sold.
12. Buyers unable to attend the sale may bid by phone with credit card arrangements made prior to the day of the sale.
13. TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS, EACH HORSE MUST HAVE A BRAND INSPECTION & A BILL OF SALE FROM THE SALES CLERK OFFICE. 14. Horses will NOT be sold in catalog order. Please bring your catalog to the sale – Limited supply. 15. All horses must be removed from the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds by Saturday evening.
