Apply silver eye shadow all over the lid and diffuse the colour upwards using a fluffy brush. Pat bronze eye shadow in to the centre of the lid and blend slightly. Bella Carr a.k.a @belle_makeupartist 2.7k followers When and how did you know that being a make-up artist was what you wanted to do? I have always been quite creative, but it was when I lived in Saudi Arabia - I was in awe of girls make-up and how amazing they were. When I was 16 I did my first fashion shoot and my love just kept growing from there.

Where do you find your inspiration for your make-up looks? Anything really, a lot of the time it's things I see outside like a flower or 23
What is one make-up trend you love and one you wouldn’t miss? Dark lips is one I will ALWAYS love, and thank god that big eyebrows are in fashion - I don't know what I would do without a good set of brows! I most definitely wouldn't miss the 90s brow. Everyday I have at least one client that is the victim of 90s over plucking. What advice would you give to girls who want to be more creative and experimental with their make-up but don’t know where to start? Baby steps, start with adding a bit of colour, or a bolder lip and go from there. Find what you like and what your boundaries allow you to do. Make-up is about expressing who you are, it's an art. So always keep that in mind when doing makeup. It's not to hide or cover. It's to accentuate, express and have fun with.

Social media is also great for inspiration, in particular Instagram and YouTube, there are so many amazing artists to be found there! What 3 make-up items do you always have on you? A nude lipliner and usually a nude lipstick to go with it. Generally my face make-up stays put but sometimes a carry powder for touch ups.

Do you have any top make-up tips? I think good brushes and eye primer are an essential for a good make-up application, once you have decent brushes, almost any make-up will go on well.
When and how did you know that being a make-up artist was what you wanted to do? I first realized I wanted to pursue makeup in my first year in college studying journalism. I had given up a place on a beauty college course to please my family and focus on academics but, I'd always had a passion for make-up and was miserable on my course. I dropped out and began teaching myself make-up, thankfully it paid off!
What advice would you give to girls who want to be more creative and experimental with their make-up but don’t know where to start? I would say to just take baby steps. For example, when I first started experimenting with color, I kept it to my lower lashline so I got a pop of color that wasn't overpowering my eyes! Be brave and remember, it doesn't matter if somebody else doesn't like your make-up, it's your face!
Where do you find your inspiration for your make-up looks? I think you can find inspiration almost anywhere. Just studying the color wheel and experimenting with the contrasting 24
