Ideas shared at Dudley Arts Councils AGM 14 December 2011 Following presentations (weblinks in box below) about Dudley’s Cultural Strategy and Our Society in Dudley members of Dudley Arts Council considered what they can do and what they would like to do with others (e.g. Dudley MBC).
We asked: What can arts groups and citizens can do together? Dudley Arts Council members said (responses are clustered by theme): Supporting each other Support each others performances as audience/technical/front of house Support each other Organise group visits to support local amateur theatre presentations Involve groups in supporting and visiting local amateur groups, to support members and organisations who give lots of free time Sharing knowledge and experience Work towards group activities – e.g. festivals. Support other performances Sharing Eat in social surroundings Sit together to re-imagine their world Create adventures, share stories, oral listening, festival parties in local area Exhibitions of local interest in many groups in area Working collaboratively Work together for a common cause of enhancing the arts in Dudley and further afield Form interest groups Discuss the merits of their neighbourhood and aim for utopia Community arts – create artwork/performances collaboratively. Involve communities in organising/participating Utilise local resources, cultural/non-cultural Play – creative play, sculptures, rewards, create play spaces for children. Doing things!
