BANG & OLUFSEN by MIYA ANDO A DYNAMIC PARTNERSHIP UNITED IN CRAFTSMANSHIP Bang & Olufsen has teamed up with distinguished and innovative artist Miya Ando, who has specialized in creating art out of metals and aluminum. Inspired by the encounter between metal, nature and the graduation of colors, they have created the splendor collaboration TRANSFORMATIONS, Bang & Olufsen by Miya Ando, where a limited edition of Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 12 speakers have been turned into small works of art. It is the common expertise in and passion for aluminum and craftsmanship that lay behind, that has brought Bang & Olufsen and Miya Ando together. Bang & Olufsen invited Miya Ando from her base in New York to Bang & Olufsen’s headquarters in Struer, Denmark, to explore and experiment with colours on their aluminum-based BeoLab 12 speaker that has recently been relaunched in a new colour, Topaz grey. 02
MIYA ANDO is of half-Japanese and half-Russian heritage and is a descendent of Bizen sword maker Ando Yoshiro Masakatsu. Miya Ando was raised among swordsmiths and Nichiren Buddhist priests in a temple in Okayama, Japan. Combining traditional techniques of her ancestry with modern industrial technology, Ando skillfully transforms sheets of burnished steel and anodized aluminum into ephemeral abstractions suffused with subtle gradations of color. Miya Ando’s work has been featured in solo exhibitions in several U.S. states including New York and California. Miya Ando has also exhibited in France,Australia,England, Germany, and Tokyo, Japan. HOW TO BID AND BUY

Each of the 10 BeoLab 12-3 sets are sold at the highest bid. The minimum price of the sets is equal to the normal basic price of the BeoLab 12-3. The price of the painting is fixed at 6,000 USD, excl. VAT. The buyer of each of the BeoLab 12-3 special editions will have first priority to the accompanying painting. Otherwise, the buyer of the painting(s) will be found by drawing among the bidders of the painting.

The exclusive collection consist of BeoLab 12-3 special edition as well as a complementary aluminum painting in matching design (10 sets). You can place a bid on both the BeoLab 12-3 sets and the paintings, both together and individually. Each series has been numbered 1-10.

The auction will run from SEPTEMBER 4TH - SEPTEMBER 11TH AT 12:00 CET. Shipment will take place in week 36, when the winning store has been identified, allowing you to showcase the special edition at the store launch event.

Furthermore, each of the 10 winners of the BeoLab 12 Auction will receive 20 aluminum pieces 1,9¨ x 1,9¨ [5 x 5 cm] in Topaz Grey with the Bang & Olufsen logo and Miya Ando’s signature, which can be used as gifts for customers at the store launch event.
