Announcing the Second Annual Green Fest in Los Cabos, Mexico LOS CABOS GREEN FEST is the first sustainable festival combining entertainment, sports, and outreach on environmental awareness issues.

THE FESTIVAL WHERE THE ENERGY IS YOU! Green Fest provides locals and visitors alike the opportunity to interact with and learn about the environment in a unique, engaging way. Located on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, surrounded by the Sea of Cortes and the Pacific Ocean, Los Cabos is a perfect natural setting in which to host The Green Fest. All participants will experience the area’s natural beauty, amazing beaches, and hospitality of its native people. Green Fest will feature conferences and workshops dedicated to sustainability issues, the Green Fest Expo at which local and U.S.-based companies may introduce and offer sustainable products and services. Green Fest will also host concerts and performances by international artists at which participants will help power the stage using Pedal Power energy-generating bikes. 2015 LOS CABOS GREEN FEST 2015 GREEN ACTIONS Green actions create awareness about environmental and sustainability issues to benefit our planet.

• EDUCATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT • EDUCATION AND AWARENESS IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARD BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE PLANET. The Green Fest Expo will provide local and international companies the opportunity to showcase their sustainable products and services. The ultimate goal is to make Los Cabos a 100% green destination and serve as an example to the world. Green Fest will also feature conferences and interactive workshops centered around essential sustainability themes and global awareness education. Top names in sustainability issues will participate and lead these conferences, including our keynote speaker Charly Alberti, founder of Revolucion 21 and the classic rock group Soda Stereo. His conference “Climate Change and the Solution” will tackle large-scale climate change issues, while the “Towards a Sustainable World” project will invite local school children and the youth community in Los Cabos to participate in Green Fest by providing an interactive workshop contest centered around environmental themes. ENVIRONMENTAL PLEDGE Together with the State Government, Charly Alberti will unite the entire community of Los Cabos in a pledge to protect and preserve the environment. Together we can help prevent climate change.

THE ENERGY IS YOU Festival attendees and participants will help generate most of the energy needed to power Green Fest’s concerts, conferences, Expo, and beach activities using Pedal Power bikes, which are specially designed to generate energy through pedaling. Participants of all ages and sizes will be able to take part through these fully-adjustable machines. A GREEN FESTIVAL Our philosophy is to produce only memories and lasting environmental awareness during Los Cabos Green Fest. All trash accumulated during the festival will be 100% recycled. One of the festival’s main objectives is to demonstrate how even large-scale productions can be 100% sustainable and help conserve the natural resources of the planet.

HEALTH, SUSTAINABILITY, AND DATA Attendees participating in the Pedal Power program generate energy that can be measured in watts, calories, and carbon footprint (waste). If one person pedals for one hour at an average of 100 watts per hour, that person will burn 360 calories. If 12 bicycles are pedaled for a total of 7 hours during a music concert, participants will burn more than 30,000 calories and generate 8,400 watts of energy, saving 6.2 kilograms of carbon footprint that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere. If we calculate the total energy generated during the festival we could easily generate a total of 19,200 watts, equivalent to 70,000 calories, and reducing 14.5 kilograms of carbon waste ... all without considering the extra calories burned while participating in Green Fest activities, sporting events, and dancing during music festivals.

A FESTIVAL WITH A GOOD CAUSE Our commitment to the community is to give back to the people who need help the most. We hire local labor and purchase local products when possible. Green Fest is working together with local municipal agencies to encourage donations and fundraising for local based charity organizations such as DIF (Desarrollo Intergral de la Familia). FESTIVAL PROMOTION • 90% of the promotional materials created for the festival will use digital advertisement. • All prints created will use 100% recycled paper. • All materials used at the festival will be reusable and made from recyclable materials.


2015 PEDAL POWER Pedal Power connects people with the power of bikes and music‌ We provide an opportunity for the audience to truly engage with the performer. Pedal Power bicycle powered audio / visual system facilitates a truly unique experience, redefining what it means to be at a show. Pedal Power Music is a very unique visual presentation of sustainability and active transportation.

El Chileno is recognized with Blue Flag Certification, an international distinction that works toward sustainable development of beaches through strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management, safety, and other services. 2015 LOS CABOS TOGETHER...ENVIRONMENTAL PLEDGE By Charly Alberty Over a million young people in Latin America have taken the Juramiento Ambiental (Environmental Pledge), according to R21, the non-profit founded by Alberti (revolucion21.com). As the face of the organization at schools and universities, the drummer turned activist has capitalized on the superstar status he gained touring Latin America with Soda in the eighties and nineties to make kids aware of the environment in their daily lives, and inspire them to work to combat climate change. R21 partners with education officials and local governments to make a “commitment and responsibility for the environment” standard in public schools.

R21 was founded by renowned musician Charly Alberti after realizing the depth of the climate change and the challenges and opportunities this crisis presents for Latin America. Leveraging on Charly´s ability to reach millions of people, R21 looks to spread the message of the global environmental crisis and its solutions. The Executive Team gathers a group of dedicated professional leaders. Each of them shares the positive vision of the Founder for a sustainable Latin America. Together, they work with passion to disseminate and educate about the global environmental crisis and help to craft creative solutions. R21 counts with three Boards of excellence consisting of some of the most prestigious scientists, businesspeople and politicians from Latin America. These professionals provide support and knowledge, helping to design effective strategies. MISSION. CHARLY ALBERTI

Charly Alberti is the founder and drummer of SODA STEREO, the most famous band in Spanish rock history. Known as “The Beatles of Latin America”, Soda’s impact on the Continent’s culture runs deep. Indeed, their musical influence led MTV to design a special award just for them, “MTV Most Important Band of all time in Latin America”, given only once. Besides being a consummate musician, Alberti is also a pioneer in music technology. Through cutting-edge projects during the 90’s (yeyeye.com; Cybrel Digital Entertainment, URL Magazine) and as the inventor of the Internet Time (the concept of Internet time), Charly was recognized by CNN as one of the ten most important Internet personalities in Latin America. His accomplishments led to Steve Jobs naming him the only Spanish- language Apple Master in the history of Apple Computers. After a lifetime of achievements, Charly decided to pursue his passion: environmental causes. So in 2008, he joined Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore, in his campaign to raise awareness about global warming. Charly’s participation in Gore’s “Climate Project” was key to spread the message in Latin America to millions of people. After understanding the depth of the global environmental crisis and seeing the challenges and opportunities for Latin America, Charly determined that the region needed solutions tailored to their challenges and possibilities. Thus he launched his own organization, R21, in order to channel Latin America’s creativity, passion and vision for the future. Charly is an unparalleled leader and perfectly suited for this new project, thanks not only to his wide reach but to his vast knowledge about the region, honored after 20 years of touring with Soda Stereo.
