dear cult, the world we live in at present is different from the one we started off in at the start of 2020. that being said, the movements and moments we’ve created are ones guided by history’s momentum to get us to this point where we are right now. for example, the power of the Black lives matter movement builds upon the work done in the civil rights movement; the former exists because of the latter’s momentum and the necessity for true racial justice. all movements have ebbs and flows, but we strongly urge you to keep Black lives matters’ momentum going. the only way we can achieve true progress and liberty is through banding together and fighting for the future we want, the future we deserve. acting against racism, sexism, transphobia, ableism, homophobia, and other prejudices in the world is a constant process; regardless if the world is watching you or not, do your part to help even if these concerns don’t directly impact you. this goes beyond setting a precedent for the future; it’s establishing a higher quality of life for marginalized groups. we know that we don’t have to tell you how incredibly huge it is to have worked on an issue with sizzy. we’ve been curating sophomore circuit for three volumes and have always been incredibly honoured to have reached sizzy each month with our work, but never in our wildest dreams did we think that one day we would get to put together an issue as special as this one. as much as we want to thank sizzy for reaching out to us to make this issue, we also want to thank you, cult, for your support, contributions, and love over the past three volumes. without you, we quite literally couldn’t have got to this point. we are who we are because of you-- never forget that. all our love,

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES 1. Please email all submissions to sophomorecircuit@gmail.com or DM us on Twitter @SOPHCIRCUIT. For emails, the subject line should read “Submission” along with the month you are submitting for. In the email, please include your name, age, pronouns, and, if you’d like, your social media links so we can properly credit you! 2. Submissions deadlines will vary from month to month, so please stay tuned to our Twitter to see when they will be. 3. All pages/spreads submitted must be original work. If they are found to not be yours/plagiarized, they will not be accepted. 4. Submissions should be related in some way to that issue’s theme. While it doesn’t have to be overt, it should tie in somehow. 5. Sophomore Circuit is an intersectional feminist zine curated by a diverse group of people–- we will not accept hateful or bigoted pages/spreads to put into our zine, along with anything that violates our ethos. 6.
