editor’s note dear readers,
when i started designing and making this magazine, in this section i wrote “to be honest, i have no idea what i’m doing,” and two months and more than 100 pages later, it’s still the same. maybe one day i’ll figure out what this all means to me, but for now, here are some inspiring, young people who leave me in awe everytime i see their artwork and i hope they do the same to you.

LF: How old are you and where are you from? CH: I’m seventeen and I’m from Wichita, Kansas.
LF: When and why did you start photography? CH: I started it seriously last summer. My mom had also been into photography in high school and it was a hobby of hers, so she kind of passed that on to me. It was just a hobby at first but it turned into a lot more. LF: What does photography mean to you? CH: Photography is really just a way for me to explain myself to people without using words. Photography is really amazing because one photo can mean so many different things to different people, and that’s why I think I love it so much.
LF: What do you want or try to convey through your photos? CH: I just want emotions to show through. The best photostreams on Flickr are the ones where the photographer pours their heart and souls into their work. LF: Where do you think you’re headed with your photography? CH: I’ll be a senior in high school next year, and after that I think I want to attend an art institute. My options are endless, but I know that no matter what I end up doing, photography will always stick with me. LF: Do you prefer film or digital and why? CH: I think I prefer film. Film seems so much more raw and personal. I don’t use film as often as I’d like but I love creating and experimenting with it. It’s so much more artistic than digital, and a lot of my favorite Flickr photographers use mostly film. I’m still in the process of figuring out how to use film. Eventually I want to get to the point where I take film with me to every photoshoot.

A time for relaxation and kicking back and taking in the warmth and sensations of the wind and warmth on your skin. The feeling can happen any time of year, but, with summer, it’s surreal and it’s there. It’s just...there. It’s a time to take the definition of experience and living to a new level, to embrace, and to adventure, and trek on long journeys to roads unseen. It’s a time to savor the moments and breathe in the warm mists of the sprinklers it’s summer

Art is something created. A sane assumption of what is art, is something fancy or with bright colors or wild figures. Art comes in the most minute of ways. So to finally answer the question, a creation, a mere creation of some sorts.
- DRENAY how w
you d art
Art is a living creature that lives among your atoms and fibers of your body. It moves and adjusts as you grow older, but it’s always there-you just have to see it to truly understand it. Art is what defines you, what makes you different from the crowd. Your sense and style of art affects everything you do, as I’ve come to realize. It’s a branch of self explanation, almost like a way to introduce yourself to the world; something to live for.

would define t?
To me, art is expression. Art is everything. It’s so personal and also so universal, I don’t think there is anything that makes me feel more, and such a large spectrum of feelings at that.. It brings things together and it broadens perspectives, it’s beautiful, the sort of beauty that is untouchable. It feels impossible to describe it adequately, but as long as people keep trying, great art will always be being made!
- jordan
would define art as an emotion or idea or memory created/shown in someones own perspective, and esented on a canvas (either digital or real mateal) that others can see. it can be perceived in fferent ways by different people, shaped by their n experiences and ideas.
