Rooms

Our rooms are large, light and airy and each one opens onto a secure outside play area where the children have space to explore and learn in the fresh air.

We have a highly qualified and established team that are passionate about helping children learn and develop. On joining your child will be assigned a key person who will work closely with them, promoting their development and acting as a point of contact for you. Children are accommodated according to their developmental stage. There are six rooms within our setting and as a guideline, the following ages broadly apply to each room:

Developers: 6 weeks – 15 months

Investigators: 15 months – 24 months

Pathfinders: 2 – 3 years

Pathfinders Priest House: 2 - 3 years

Innovators: From the term of the child’s third birthday until the year before they go to school

Pioneers: 3.5 - 4 years

Typical Day

During a typical day children spend their time in our exciting and stimulating environment including the outdoor area.

We are very lucky to be able to make use of the Loughborough Schools Foundation’s facilities, meaning that we have access to an onsite library, gym area, role play room and Forest School.

Your child’s day is planned around their individual needs, next steps and interests. At the end of each day you will receive in depth feedback about your child’s day at Nursery.

Food

All our meals are home cooked and freshly prepared by our experienced Nursery Chefs. We are a nut free Nursery and we cater for all dietary requirements. Throughout the day we offer breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and tea.

The timings for these are as follows:

Breakfast is served from 07:30 until 09:00

Morning snack: 10:00

Lunch: 11:30

Afternoon snack: 14:00

Tea: 16:00

Security

We take the security of our children and staff very seriously, access to the site is via intercom request and at the discretion of the Nursery Manager or Receptionist. All our rooms have closed circuit television, with the exception of the toilets, which is monitored by the Nursery Manager in her office.

Communications

We usually communicate with our parents by letter or email. Occasionally notices may be put up in your child’s room to inform you of parents’ evening or illness. We have an open door policy at Loughborough Nursery meaning that you can come and speak to us at any time should you wish to.

ParentZone

ParentZone is the system we use, in addition to paper based assessments, to record your child’s development. During your child’s first settling in session you will be asked to complete a consent form for ParentZone. Once we have received this you will be sent a link which will enable you to create your own password ensuring your account is secure. ParentZone can be viewed via the website or you can download the app.

How to Change your Contact Details

If your contact details change, please notify the Office as soon as possible so that we are able to speak to you quickly in the event of an emergency. Alternatively, you can update your own details via the ParentZone website or app.

Registration Fee

A registration fee of £75 is required in order to reserve a place for your child. This is refunded at the end of your child’s time at Loughborough Nursery, providing that the correct notice is given and fees are up to date.

Enrolment Process

To enrol your child please complete the online Registration Form which can be found on our website, or if you prefer you can download and complete a hard copy of the form, also found on the Join Us page of the website. Once the registration fee and form have been received and your child’s place has been confirmed, we will be in touch a few months before your child’s start date to arrange settling in sessions. These usually begin a week or so before your child is due to start and enables them to become familiar with the Loughborough Nursery environment and our team. During the first settling in session we will ask you to complete the remaining paperwork and then your child may be left with us to enjoy the session.
