VINCENT The Vincent jewelry collection celebrates the beauty of the sunflower, which symbolizes loyalty, adoration, and longevity. Named for the famed artist Vincent Van Gogh, the collection echoes the wild energy and untamed spirit of nature that Van Gogh depicted when painting his sunflowers. The designs are an honest interpretation of the flower in their natural state, perfectly imperfect in their unique splendor. “I love the warm colors and the frenetic energy of Van Gogh’s sunflowers, and it inspired me to create a jewelry collection that brought his passionate representation to life. Like the sunflower, this jewelry is symbolic of everlasting love and devotion.”
OCEAN The Ocean jewelry collection is inspired by the untamed nature and grandiose beauty of the world’s oceans. The designs evoke the majesty of the marine realm and the striking forms that are found there. “To me, the sea symbolizes limitlessness, a wealth of endless possibilities that lie beneath the ocean’s waves. With this collection, I wanted to explore the beauty and strength of the ocean’s uninhibited organic forms, pure and untouched by mankind.”
BUTTERFLY GINKGO The Butterfly Ginkgo jewelry collection is poetic. It tells the story of the delicate balance between flora and fauna, with the leaves and twigs metamorphosing into butterflies taking flight. The leaves that would blow into Aram’s bedroom window from the ginkgo tree growing outside his New York City apartment seemed like a delicate gift from nature, as the ginkgo tree is associated with wellness and healing. “Seeing the wind rustle through the ginkgo tree made me think of the fluttering wings of butterflies. I see this jewelry as symbolic of change and resilience, qualities so important to our well-being.”
ENCHANTED FOREST The Enchanted Forest jewelry collection is inspired by the natural world, which is endlessly evolving. The designs capture the ephemeral spirit of the forest and the organic textures found there. The colorful jewels evoke a dreamlike vision of nature. “The forest is my muse. Her embrace of branches, tactile and nurturing, are a metaphor for life itself. Reflecting humanity, she is vibrant with the dawn of new possibility.�
ORCHID The Orchid jewelry collection is inspired by the delicacy and sensuousness of orchids. Aram initially crafted his orchids in black metal with a nod to the mystery that surrounds whether black orchids exist in nature or not. For him, the mystery of black orchids embody the intrigue and natural beauty of women. “Lush and seductive, the orchid is like a woman in a black velvet gown floating through the night, mysterious and luxurious in the afterglow of a beautiful evening.�
FEATHER Michael Aram was inspired to create the Feather jewelry collection after finding a wind-torn black feather on the beach with his son. The ripped edges of the feather reminded Aram of the twists and turns in life, and how, like the feather, we all weather life’s storms with grace, beauty, and strength. “The feather I found on the beach, glistening, wildly articulated, full of movement, is both fragile and elegant. A testament to strength, it bends gracefully yet never breaks.”
MOLTEN The Molten jewelry collection is a tribute to craft and Aram’s love of the handmade process. Each molten bead is heated, melted, and dropped in its place—taking on a unique shape and position. Like falling rain, no two beads are ever the same- each unique and beautiful. “Every bead of metal a pearl of memory, precious and personal, perfectly imperfect, shining spontaneously in an infinite circle.”
BOTANICAL LEAF Leaves are a favorite motif of Aram’s since for him, they symbolize the energy of life. The stones in the Botanical Leaf jewelry collection evoke the varied and intense colors of foliage. The leaf shapes are a reference to sea grape leaves which are found in coastal areas where Michael is always happiest. “A leaf flutters in light, shining a bright halo of color. Fresh and alive, it captures eternally in metal a sparkling and ephemeral moment in time.”
MICHAEL ARAM Michael Aram is an award-winning American artist who has dedicated his career to craft-based design. Inspired by a trip to India at age 25, he established a second home and workshop there, where he continues to draw creative inspiration. Although best known for his work in metal, Michael works across all materials with a focus on objects made by hand. Trained as a painter, sculptor, and art historian, Michael has neatly applied his creative background to objects ranging from the fine and decorative arts to jewelry. His often lyrical work is inspired by nature, his biggest muse, as well as his love of the making process. Michael crafts pieces that have a personal connection to him and which speak to his love of symbolism, nature, narrative storytelling, and objects made by hand. Today, over 200 skilled artisans work alongside Michael at his India workshop, with hundreds more around the world. Whether from his studio in India or New York City, Michael’s attention to detail and creative passion is constant whether he is creating a one of a kind sculpture, a piece of jewelry, or a decorative object. He feels there is a ‘vibration’ in objects made by hand that is expressed through the immediacy of the making process. Organic shapes made by hand create ‘perfectly imperfect’ pieces, which Michael maintains are a reflection of our humanity. Michael is highly inspired by his surroundings and often represents objects that have meaning for him, especially those that might otherwise be overlooked in the everyday. Nature is his biggest source of inspiration, as is the handmade process.
