Broader Reaches A celebration of the Royal Albert Hall’s vast versatility and showcasing of worldwide talent.
Overview Broader Reaches is a celebration of the Royal Albert Hall’s vast versatility. Within this a Donation Reward Scheme has been introduced to give the donators something back in return for their kind donations. Incorporated into the Scheme is a monthly event exclusive to the members that allows them to experience an evening which brings to the forefront the Hall’s versatility by providing new entertainment at each event as well as keeping members up to date with the projects proceedings. The event is intended to make the Donators feel special and a part of something exclusive, with this being the intention it is also seen as the main aspect to bringing in new donators to the scheme. The secondary idea behind this scheme is to leave a strong and publicised donation format for the Royal Albert Hall to continue to use to draw in donations after the targets for this brief have been met.
How the idea works Using an email address and a password the user will set up an account. While logged in, any donation made to the Royal Albert Hall will be rewarded with Reward Points. The points can then be used to purchase discounted tickets through the Broader Reaches App. All members of the Donation Reward Scheme are legible to book tickets to the monthly Donator’s Evening which is an exclusive night for the members to experience new talent and events coming to Hall before the general public. The evening will also supply dinner for two and an optional exclusice tour of the Royal Albert Hall. The Donator’s Evening’s work in favour of the Hall as well as the Donator’s as the new events can be assessed on the Donator’s reaction before being showcased on a larger scale to the general public. This gives the Hall as insight to how successful and popular the show could be in factors such as ticket limitations and income estimations.
Outcome Choices The Donation Reward Scheme offers discounted tickets through reward points and has been intergrated into the Royal Albert Hall’s purchasing system within a dedicated Broader Reaches App concept where you can also manage your account and donate to the project. The project also includes a website concept that gives indepth detail about the Donation Scheme, the Donator’s Evenings and most importantly why the project needs the public’s support, while also giving another platform to donate to the Hall.
To drive the public towards the Website and the App, promotional content has been produced to advertise the scheme. The two medias concentrated on where a poster to placed around the Hall and also Lamppost Banners which are site specific to the Royal Albert Hall as they would hang outside the Hall’s entrances. Other types of promotional items that could be included could be Bus Banners, Taxi/Bus Seats, Billboards or any other applicable environmental graphic that is exploited by the Royal Albert Hall.
The WEbsite Concept The main focusses of the website are prodominantly to introduce the public to the project, gauge their interest into the Reward Scheme and the exclusive events and to finally persuade them to support and donate. The website has been designed to be simplistic with its information and make navigation and donation easy for all users. The Royal Albert Hall is clearly referenced throughout the website with each page featuring in the background grid of previous events held at the venue. On the opening and second page of the webiste the structure of the Hall is visible and the idea here is to cement the relation of the Royal Albert Hall to the term ‘Broader Reaches’ to make the project instantly collerated to the Royal Albert Hall. Another feature of the Website is to advertise the App. This gives the public and members awareness fo the app’s usefulness and also provides an ‘on the go’ method to book tickets and donate to the Hall, making it easier for people to part with their money as well as get the most out of the Donation Reward Scheme.
Being able to give detailed information about the Reward Scheme with examples was very important as this aspect is what brings the donation in for the project.
Donation Reward Scheme
Dedicating a page of the website to the Donator’s Evenings gives a platform to explain in detail what is on offer. This page also allows space to advertise what the Evening will entail this month, entising the audience to sign up to be part of the event this month.
Essentially the main idea of the project is to persuade the public to help and support the Hall by donating, therefore making donating as easy as possilbe is key so the process has been simplified to the bare essentials.
Donator’s Evenings
Donate To The Hall
The Broader Reaches App concept The app is where the majority of the interactive features of the project take place. In the app you are able to purchasing tickets to events with or without reward points, donate directly to the Hall and also book your place for the current months Donator’s Evening event. With your own account set up and preferenced events the app gives a real personal feel to the Donation Reward Scheme. The App’s intergration with the current ticket purchasing system gives up to date information on the Hall’s events and allows the user to optimise their experience by using their reward points to save money on purchases directly from the app. Another key feature of the App is the donation page, with this feature it is now easier than ever to support the Hall as the mobile app is carried with the user and within an instant a donation can be made with a secure connection to the Royal Albert Hall.
The app allows you to sign up and create an account within the project. This gives you access to what the app has to offer. The user will have preferenced ticket purchasing information based on past transactions and also a profile hub to monitor Reward Points and change settings as well as a History of all past donations and purchases.
Having the Donator’s Evenings page accessible on the app gives a platform to advertise what the Evening will entail this month. This page also allows the ability to book tickets easily for the monthly event once signed into the app with your account details.

Donate
A major selling point of the App is the integrated ticket purchasing page that links directly to the Royal Albert Hall’s website. User’s can use existing Reward Points to save money on purchases and also donate with the purchases to gain new Reward Points.
To keep the idea of donating fresh in the mind of the user, a dedicated page will be used to donate to the project. This will give the user transferable Reward Points to use in the Buy Tickets page. The use of donating on an app is lucrative to the project as parting with money is easier when it is at the tip of your fingers, meaning the user is more likely to donate.

This environmental graphic is a site specific design that can promote the project and the Donation Scheme to the public by raising it’s awareness and driving people to the Website and the App by being hung outside the Hall’s entrances.
Project
Broader Reaches
Using the Royal Albert Hall as the background imagery makes the piece instantly identifable to the Hall and with the ‘Broacher Reaches’ title at the top of the heirachy this piece is helping to strengthen the bond between the project and the Hall. The banners themselves work as a pair and together seperate the information from the driving direction that is intended. On the left the key information of the project is displayed hopefully leaving the audience wanting to find out more about what is on offer and how to be a part of the project. The right side gives the audience this information and promptly informs how to learn more about the project and how to sign up and support the Hall.

Poster
A celebration of the Royal Albert Hall’s vast versatility and showcasing of worldwide talent.
The poster is the main piece of promotional design as it can be placed almost anywhere; from outside the Hall to a community centre pinboard on the other side of the country. With this in mind the design shows a deliverable that tries to gauge the interest of the audience quickly by using text heirachy to indentify keys parts of the scheme while leaving more detailed information for the indepth reading. The key feature of this poster is to drive the audience to the Website and to the App. So all further information is featured on these platforms. While the audience discovers more about the project through these methods, hopefully they will go on to donate and sign up to the scheme. Again, the use of the Royal Albert Hall as imagery will make the cause instantly recognisable to the audience and this should link the term Broader Reaches with the Hall successfully.

Advertising opportunities As well as the existing concepts demonstrated to advertise the project to the public there is also the potential to optimise the advertising deliverables seen around London. The Hall is located in the heart of London, a thriving city that using advertising to it’s advantage. Possible examples are Billboards, Newspapers, Bus Stops, Bus Banners, Taxi Ranks and all London Underground variations of adverts. Mocked up here are a couple of visualisations of how the project could be progressed to exploit a vast number of advertising solutions to publicise the project further.
Bus Banners
Newspapers AD
Seen as one of the quickest solutions to publicising an advert because of the quanitiy of buses in the city combined with their constant movement. The information on the banners would be limited as the moving nature of the advert leaves little time to be read.
Produced and read in mass volume, this deliverable is a cheap cost-effective way to convey the Project’s selling points and direct an interested audience to the Website & App. This particular solution would mainly been seen in the streets, on the Underground and surrounding trainlines of London.
