Before installing this kit, identify all kit components. If any components are missing or damaged, return the kit to place of purchase. Do not substitute any components. 4. Inspect the stage before installing this kit. Repair or replace any damaged or missing stage parts before using the stage. Use only Louisville Ladder Inc. replacement parts. If unable to repair, discard the stage.

INSTRUCTIONS: This guardrail can be used on any Louisville stage. On 12” wide stages the guardrail and midrail can also be placed on the outside of the post. The toeboards must remain on the inside of the post. (Note: Standard dimension lumber can be used in place of aluminium guardrails and toeboards on all stages, 2” x 4” guardrails and 1” x 4” toeboards)
STEP 1 Measure height “H” of side rail on stage to be equipped with guardrails (See Figure 1). For side rails less than 6” –go to step 2. For side rails greater or equal to 6” – go to step 3.

STEP 5 Install guardrail ⑤ and midrail ⑥ through U-bolt ⑦ of guardrail post (shown in Figure 4) and tighten with (2) 5/16 “– 18 wing nuts ⑧ as shown in Figure 5. Guardrails ⑤ and midrails ⑥ are to overlap at guardrail posts ② as shown in Figure 4.
Figure 1 STEP 2 These stages require adjustable web brace kits MRF-01 installed at each post bracket location. Attach post bracket ① and web brace ⑤ to side rail at each predrilled location using (4) 5/16 - 18 X 1” bolts ②, (1) reinforcement plate ③, and (4) hex nuts ④ as shown in Figure 2. Slide free end of web brace ⑤ against opposite side rail and secure in the same manner. (Note: If guardrail system is being installed on one side only, attach web brace directly to side rail using 5/16 -18 x 1” bolts and hex nuts provided with adjustable web brace kit MRF-01. Secure sliding web brace from movement by inserting (2) 5/16 – 18 X 1 ½” bolts ⑥ in adjustment holes that line up in both haves of web brace as shown in Figure 2. Secure with hex nut ⑦. (Note: Bolts ⑥ and hex nuts ⑦ are provided with adjustable web brace kit MRF-01.) Repeat step 2 at each post bracket location. Proceed to step 4.

Figure 2 STEP 3 Attach guardrail post brackets ① to the side rail at each predrilled location using (4) 5/16” – 18 X 1” ② bolts and (4) 5/16” – 18 hex nuts ③ as shown in Figure 3. Repeat the process at each post bracket location. Proceed to step 4.
Figure 5 STEP 6 Install toeboard ⑨ through U-bolt ⑦ at bottom of guardrail post as shown in Figure 5 and tighten with (2) 5/16” – 18 wing nuts ⑧. Toe boards are to overlap at guardrail posts as shown in Figure 6
Figure 3 STEP 4 Put guardrail post ② into post bracket ① and fasten with (2) 5/16” – 18 x 2 1/2” long bolts ③ and (2) 5/16” hex nuts ④ as shown in Figure 4. Repeat bracket and guardrail post attachment at each pre-drilled hole location of the stage side rail. (NOTE: OSHA limits the maximum distance between posts to 8 feet.)
