PK720 - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION WARNING: If siderails are damaged in any way, STOP – Do not try and repair siderail. Discard and replace stepladder Figure 1 1.
Using drill with 1/4” drill bit, center bit over rivet and carefully drill through thickness of rivet head. (See Figure 1). Caution: Make sure not to enlarge holes in ladder siderail when drilling.

If rivet head does not fall off, gently tap side of rivet head with chisel and hammer making sure chisel stays parallel with ladder siderail. (See Figure 2).

Once head of rivet is removed, tap remaining body of rivet through siderail using the nail punch and hammer. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for remaining 5 rivets.

If removing the top section hinge, remove the bolt and nut attaching hinge to bracket. (See Figure 3).

Attach new hinge with bolts, washers, and locknuts provided. Securely tighten using (2) 7/16” wrenches (See Figure 4)
6.
Top section hinge only: Reinstall bolt and locknut removed in step 4.
7.
When repair is completed close and reopen ladder to inspect for proper operation before climbing.
