Background
5
Process ELT was set up in 2001 by current M.D. Loukas Ioannou (previously, Pub Manager at Pearson-Longman).
We work with a network of specialised ELT Editorial Managers, Development Editors, Copy-editors and Proof-readers.
We employ a range of creative designers and pre-press specialists, all of whom fully trained and highly experienced in the requirements of ELT book & multimedia production. The final press-ready product is exactly calibrated to suit the publisher’s repro requirements.
We are always flexible to work with the Publisher’s chosen authors, editors, photo & art suppliers, software enginners etc. 1/10/18

Editorial role We can undertake to develop a project from concept inception and primary research to bound copy. However, experience has shown it is best that…
the publisher develops initial concept & publishing aims, identifies authors and developers – with PELT contribution if required PELT is given detailed brief for content and design prototype/samples, to develop further on agreement of main specs, PELT undertakes to – –
11
complete the editorial and carry out production, and, commission, develop and produce other components. 1/10/18
Starting up a project
12
We work closely with the Publisher to establish accurate specifications for projects.
We supply detailed estimates for cost, time, resources and assignment of roles.

Publishing route: development
13
On agreed spec, cost & schedule, we undertake manuscript development (i.e. in our areas of expertise) with the selected authors and in liaison with the Pub.
Design prototypes and pilot samples are prepared and revised as needed.
On completion of development, follows content editing and preparation for production. 1/10/18
Publishing route: production (1)
14
Detailed production stages are agreed and then proofs (electronic) go securely on-line for the Pub/consultants to comment on.
We undertake photo research (online) and selections are uploaded for approval while our editors make content corrections and proof-read. We also manage the illustrators commissioned by the Pub.
Further proofs incorporate all key visuals in position and are uploaded for approval. 1/10/18
Publishing route: production (2)
15
Subsequent sets of proofs follow the same approval route, following agreed stages.
On approval of final proofs, final materials are prepared and sent to the Pub for sign-off. (Hard copy if required.)
We project manage all stages and all contributors and a full schedule is on-line for Publisher’s access.

Publishing route: non-text element

PELT will handle text permission forms and send them to Pub for clearance. PELT will prepare all recording scripts and approve all listening copies.
