FIND YOUR OWN WAY Dear dealer, Our world is becoming more complex and is constantly changing. For all of us it is therefore more and more important, to have checkpoints and values by which we can orient ourselves. Just like on a hike, you sometimes need a quick look at the map.

We know that you as a retailer are in a difﬁcult competition. It does not matter if you operate a brick-and-mortar store or an online store or both. To be able to remain standing in this race, position yourself with a well-deﬁned image. You know your customers, and you also know what they need and would like.

Continued further development of the LOWA range is that kind of orientation for me over the course of a year because it is visible every season in a new workbook. I look forward every season to all the new things when I hold this workbook in my own hands. I hope that for you it also offers some orientation.

With the LOWA range we want to offer you the chance to choose a line that is determined speciﬁcally by your individual customer needs, one that bears your signature, and underscores the uniqueness of your business.

You will see that the catalog this season again holds a comprehensive and differentiated offering. New facets for how to spend free time are continuously developed with corresponding demands for the appropriate gear. Thus, we want to offer buying stimulus for products by showing improvement of the tried-andtested as well as visible innovations – all of which should satisfy both you and the consumer.

I can promise you that we have worked with our heart and soul to make our range even better. In our Performance segment, I would recommend you take a closer look at our new “superlight” model. This athletic lightweight was derived directly from working together with our top-class athlete team. In the development of the innovative SL model, for example, our mountain sport ace David Göttler has played a crucial role.

With such high-tech footwear, we are strengthening our core values as an outdoor shoemaker just as much as we are with the new developments in the Backpacking segment. There, too, you will discover new models. Our focus this season is also on our All Terrain Sport category, which is happily showing good growth in its numbers. Here we see much potential in the future. Of course, you will ﬁnd signiﬁcantly more worlds of footwear in the workbook. I invite you to discover these for yourself and use them to develop your own personal LOWA line. FAIRE PRODUKTION, FAIRE PRODUKTE. LOWA setzt bei der Fertigung seiner Schuhe zu 100 Prozent auf „Made in Europe“. Dabei sieht sich die Jetzendorfer Traditionsfirma in der Verantwortung für seine Produktionsstandorte und teilt die Einschätzung der ILO (International Labour Organization), die Folgendes besagt: „Ein Markt, der von einem fairen Verbund von Regeln und Institutionen geregelt wird, ist effizienter und bringt Vorteile für alle Beteiligten.“ Ziel ist es, auf die Produktionspartner einzuwirken, um an den europäischen Produktionsstandorten ethische Standards sicherzustellen, wie zum Beispiel die Garantie eines adäquaten Einkommens für die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter oder wichtige Aspekte der Arbeitssicherheit und Sozialstandards. Dies zeigt, dass bei LOWA „Made in Europe“ als ganzheitliches Konzept verstanden wird.

FAIR PRODUCTION, FAIR PRODUCTS. All LOWA footwear products are completely “Made in Europe”. The Jetzendorf company with the long tradition assumes a special responsibility for its production locations and shares a philosophy that the International Labour Organisation once expressed in the following way: “A market governed by a fair alliance of rules and institutions is more efficient and operates for the benefit of everyone.” The aim is to ensure that production partners understand the need to apply ethical standards at the European locations, standards that include the guarantee of adequate wages for employees, compliance with important aspects of occupational health and safety law and observance of social standards. This strategy illustrates why LOWA believes the words “Made in Europe” represent a holistic way of thinking.

CLOSE TO THE GROUND & CLOSE TO THE ROCCK Ein sicherer Stand im Schuh, Sensibilität und Trrittsicherheit werden stark durch die Distanz zwischen Fuß und Untergrund deﬁniert. Daher ssind die CLOSE-TO-THE-GROUND- sowie die CLOSE-TO-THE-ROCK-Technologie so konstruiert, dass d der Abstand zum Boden beziehungsweise zum Fels so gering wie möglich ist. Gleichzeitig werden Faktoren wie die Grifﬁgkeit oder das Abrollverhalten nicht außer Acht gelassen. Die BBauhöhenminimierung über den ganzen Schuh hinweg führt zu einem Zugewinn an Kontrolle undd einem natürlicheren Tragegefühl.

For this reason, the technologies known as CLOSE TO THE GROUND and CLOSE TO THE ROCK are designed in a way that reduces the space between the ground or the rock to the greatest extent possible. At the same time, careful attention is also paid to such factors as grip and rolling properties. The overall height of the boot is minimised in order to increase control and produce a natural wearing experience.

ALPINE ALLROUNDER. Der sportliche CADIN GTX® kann entweder in mittelhoher Ausführung oder als flacher Approacher zum Einsatz kommen. Trotz der recht steifen Sohle zeichnen sich die beiden Modelle durch ein sehr breites Einsatzgebiet aus, wobei der CADIN GTX® MID dank seiner Steigeisenaufnahme an der Ferse und der Vibram®-Mulaz-Außensohle in alpinem Gelände deutlich mehr Stabilität bietet. Dafür weiß der CADIN GTX® LO beim Zustieg und im Klettersteig seine Stärken voll auszuspielen.

ALPINE ALL-ROUNDER. The sporty CADIN GTX® can be found either as a MID-CUT version or as a LOW-CUT approach shoe. Despite the pretty rigid sole, both models are distinguished by their very broad range of use, whereas the CADIN GTX® MID offers significantly more stability on alpine terrain with its crampon compatibility at the heel and a Vibram® Mulaz outsole. In contrast, the CADIN GTX® LO can fully play out its strengths on an approach or a via ferrata.

LOWA MONOWRAP® To create optimal stability and provide perfect support to the foot, LOWA developed a new, three-dimensional design of the midsole in 1995. This frame is called LOWA MONOWRAP® and perfectly envelopes the foot, providing support where it is needed the most. The frame, like the rest of the sole, is made of polyurethane.

Die Antwort ist ganz klar „ja“. Schuhe, die mit dieser speziellen Technologie gefertigt wurden, sind rundum wasserdicht. Das Herzstück der Technologie ist die spezielle Konstruktion unter dem Fuß. Da sich die meisten Schweißdrüsen an der Fußsohle beﬁnden, ist die Sohle so konstruiert, dass warme Luft und Schweiß nach unten durch das Laminat hindurch in einen offenzelligen „Spacer“ entweichen und von dort seitlich aus dem Schuh austreten können. Dadurch entsteht ein 360°-Klimakomfort im Schuh.

SPORTY, INNOVATIVE, DYNAMIC

Weitestgehend verantwortlich für den Tragekomfort, das Abrollverhalten und die Dämpfung eines Schuhs ist die Zwischensohle. Diese besteht meist aus einem geschäumten Kunststoff. LOWA arbeitet hier mit Polyurethan (PU). Die Zwischensohle besteht aus tausenden von Schaumblasen. Das Ergebnis ist ein Material, das leicht, ﬂexibel und enorm haltbar ist.

Footwear that employs this technology is completely waterproof. The heart of this technology is the special design used under the foot. Because most sweat glands are located on the soles of people’s feet, the sole of the shoe is designed in such a way that warm air and sweat can ﬂow downward through a membrane and into an open-celled spacer. From there, they can escape through the side of the shoe. The result is 360° climate comfort in the shoe.

LOWA DynaPU® The midsole is the heart of comfort, rolling properties and shoe cushioning. It is usually made from a foamed plastic. LOWA uses polyurethane (PU). The midsole consists of thousands of foam bubbles. The result is a material that is light, ﬂexible and extremely durable.
