ABOUT ME I am a Landscape Designer currently based in Toronto, Ontario. I am passionate about the outdoor environment and aim to create sustainable designs that mitigate the effects of climate change while restoring native ecology and creating a positive human experience, improving health and wellbeing. INTRODUCTION AECOM has been engaged by the City of Toronto for the preservation, repair, enhancement, and sustainability of Nathan Phillips Square (NPS), an iconic and cherished landmark in the Toronto urban landscape. The redesign aims to improve the square’s perimeter, create smaller gathering spaces for individuals and groups, and enhance pedestrian accessibility. The revitalization of Nathan Phillips Square is envisioned to establish a more functional and environmentally sustainable meeting space for future generations. In the project’s initial phases, I conducted site visits alongside my Landscape Architecture manager to assess existing conditions. I prepared presentation materials for design charrettes and actively engaged with stakeholders to develop design solutions. Throughout the design phase, I collaborated closely with the Landscape Architect, contributing to the drafting of the drawing package for detailed design submissions.

A
The Bay Street Edge of Nathan Phillips Square, while generously sized with well-established plantings, trees, and large seating areas, lacks vibrancy and public realm appeal. Pedestrians tend to move swiftly through this area, attributed in part to a lack of engaging uses at street level on the building side and the functional and physical separation from the rest of the street due to the ramped access to underground parking. The only access points to the Square and City Hall from the East are at the two far corners and mid-block at the Albert Street intersection.

Positioned at the northern boundary of the square, the narrow area between Hagerman Street and City Hall primarily serves as a service access point, characterized by limited, undefined, and underutilized public space. This situation is influenced by the functional arrangement of vehicular access and ramp locations, along with fencing and grading challenges.

Queen Street, the forecourt leading into Nathan Phillips Square from the south, is a hub of activity. It serves as the initial experience for most visitors arriving by different modes of transportation. Activities include east-west pedestrian movement, gathering at the south-facing edge towards City Hall, enjoying shade under tree canopies, playing chess, using the information booth, and patronizing food trucks and hot dog vendors.

The Ontario Line, a forthcoming subway in Toronto, spans 15.6 kilometers from Exhibition/Ontario Place to the Ontario Science Centre, connecting communities across the city. AECOM, shortlisted for the design of the South section, particularly Queen and Osgoode stations, played a key role. Collaborating with teams in AECOM, I contributed to the landscape drawing package during the bid and detail design phases. This involved creating plans, details, and renderings, as well as coordinating with civil engineers and architects to ensure accurate elevation data for soil planning.

In my role for the Dundas Bus Rapid Transit TYPE B (BRT) project, I took on TYPE theAtask of preparing landscape plans forSTREETSCAPE the section between Confederation Parkway and Neilson Drive. My TYPE C TYPE A focus was on identifying different streetscape typologies in this area. To make the information more accessible, I worked on creating streetscape enlargements and section elevations, aiming to provide a clear understanding of the diverse zones within each streetscape typology. My goal was to contribute to the improvement of the Dundas BRT system by emphasizing the importance TYPE A TYPE A TYPE F-2 of an integrated and visually appealing public STREETSCAPE transportation network.

The Island Water Treatment Plant, one of Toronto’s crucial facilities, underwent a significant enhancement through Phase 2, managed by AECOM under the City’s supervision. My role involved contributing to essential landscape plans, including the overall landscape design, materials plan, green roof planting plan, and detailed specifications. The project encompassed the design of key facilities such as an ultraviolet disinfection unit, a new residual management facility, and the LEGEND necessary upgrades to the plant’s electrical substation. Notably, the green roof was meticulously designed to mirror the natural surroundings, featuring three distinct plant mixes with varying heights, creating a visually dynamic wave-like pattern. This unique design would be observable from above, providing a captivating view for travelers as airplanes depart and arrive at Billy Bishop Airport.

INTRODUCTION In my capacity at AECOM, I played a pivotal role in the QEW/Credit River Improvement project, a substantial undertaking commissioned by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Infrastructure Ontario (IO). INTRODUCTION The Town of Collingwood drinking water is provided from the Raymond A. Barker Treatment Plant (WTP) located on Raglan Street in the Town of Collingwood. The expansion will repurpose the existing membrane building and construct a new membrane building to meet future anticipated water supply requirements. The objectives were to design a space that would accommodate the employees and the public as well as surfers that will access Nottawasaga Bay from the site. Some landscape elements included in the design were an art mural in the wave-shaped plaza, stone seat walls, interpretive signs, a bike rack, and planting. I provided design ideas during the early stage and was responsible for drafting the landscape drawing package.

INTRODUCTION Ayson Cottage Subdivision is a forthcoming recreation development in the Rural Municipality of Grahamdale, Manitoba, near Lake Manitoba. The project includes a new cottage subdivision, office, store, restaurant, outdoor area, and sports complex. It offers various accommodations like RV sites, yurts, cabins, and tent campsites. I played a role in researching campground design guidelines, collaborating with the Landscape Architect, and contributing to the drafting of multiple design concepts.

INTRODUCTION
LANDSCAPE PLAN
The new condo complex in the Yonge and Eglinton neighborhood is designed to harmonize nature and Japanese-inspired minimalism, employing a palette of plants, water, and light. The landscaping enhances curb appeal, with an extensive outdoor amenity program spanning multiple levels. Notably, residents can enjoy an indoor/ outdoor pool with a striking thirty-foot waterfall. The upcoming mixed-use hub in Oakville will include residential units, retail space, and a spacious outdoor podium connecting the two buildings. The distinctive paving pattern is designed to enhance walkability and connectivity within the site and to the existing sidewalk system. The stairs connecting the ground and podium levels will incorporate a series of seat walls and planters. Ample greenery, including on the podium, will balance out the hardscape. I played a role in drafting the design drawing package and developing a 3-D concept for the stairs on Dundas Street West.
