Submit required vaccine documentation
The 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available at studentaid.gov. Please complete your FAFSA as soon as possible so Loyola can promptly issue you a financial aid award. This award will help you understand how to afford your legal education. Loyola’s Title IV institution code for the FAFSA is 002016. Call the Office of Financial Aid at 504.861.5551 for assistance.

Find housing
The College of Law’s campus is nestled in the quintessential Uptown New Orleans neighborhood: an eclectic mix of homes, shops, and restaurants. Most law students live off campus in any number of nearby apartments, mansions, carriage houses, shotguns, and camelbacks. Students who are interested in living close to campus may elect to live in the Uptown, Carrollton, or Leonidas neighborhoods. The best strategy for securing housing is to visit New Orleans in the summer to get acquainted with the city and put down a deposit on an apartment. The Office of Law Admissions will regularly post listings to the accepted student Facebook group, where students can also connect with potential roommates.
All students are required to submit vaccination documentation before arriving on campus for new student Orientation. The Admissions Office will reach out to you with next steps on how to supply your vaccination records. For more information on this requirement or how to apply for an exemption, please email Loyola Public Health at immunizations@loyno.edu.
Explore health insurance options
Loyola University offers students access to health insurance through partner insurance providers. Domestic students are required to use Loyola’s health insurance or provide proof of comparable, existing insurance coverage for the academic year in order to waive coverage. Contact the University Counseling Center for assistance at (504) 865-3835. The Admissions Office will reach out to you with next steps on how to fulfill or waive this requirement.
Send your transcripts New law students must submit an official transcript from all post-secondary institutions by August 2, 2024. Electronic transcripts may be sent to lawtranscripts@loyno.edu. Unfortunately, transcripts submitted to LSAC with your application for admission do not fulfill this requirement. Please ensure that your undergraduate degree granting institution includes the date that you earned your bachelor’s degree on your transcript.
Attend Orientation Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students.
When available, the Office of Law Admissions will announce the Orientation schedule and first day of class.
Old-world buildings, innovative solutions! Adapting to a Changing World Lawyers are trained to solve problems that haven’t been identified yet. At Loyola, we live what we teach. From a global pandemic to major hurricanes and flooding in our region, we’ve had to adapt and respond to the challenges of our world. In times when we can’t be physically together, our Hyflex technology allows us to run classrooms virtually or offer a hybrid alternative.
We also have laptops and hotspots available for our students to check out. These technological upgrades allow us to provide our students with a quality legal education with minimum interruption.
