FLOAT GAUGE MOUNTING POSITIONS

Mounting Positions - Horizontal Tanks The common mounting positions for float gauges are depicted in the sketch. The swing arm rotates around the diameter of the tank so it is important to have the pivot point dead center of the tank. The “H” dimension (H = the distance between the tank surface and the gasket surface) must be known to establish the correct length to the pivot point.

Mounting Position - Vertical Cylinders The “D” dimension must be known so the swing arm does not run into the side wall of the cylinder. The “H” dimension (H = the distance between the tank surface and the gasket surface) must also be known to establish the correct length to the pivot point.
