WHAT DID I LEARN There are a lot of things that you can learn when reading a nonfiction book, I will show you mine. I learned that the Holocaust was the same thing as the Nazi/Hitler war. I learned that sometimes Jews could get jobs outside ghetto camps. It was possible to live in and escape ghetto camps. Jews had to wear an armband with the Star of David when they exit the ghetto camp. People were sent in gas rooms to be killed. Nazi soldiers sometimes made kids do push-ups with a bag a bricks on their backs when they asked to go to the bathroom. Lice could cause serious head infections. They often had a death march to kill the Jews, and made them walk until they would drop dead. During the death march, the people were only given one loaf of bread. A group called the partisans were formed and recruited people who hated Nazis or were against them, they Blew up railroads to cut off Nazi’s supplies, etc. I learned that an SS officer is actually an elite German military unit that served Hitler and the Nazi party

dition, or place affording some advantage or a commanding view.
To the children in the stories of the holocaust the meaning of success during that time period would be to live, to survive and be free, and to see their families again. What would you do if you were lost and stuck with people you don't know and cruel Nazi officers. You would probably give up, but not these kids. They always kept their self esteem, hope, and humanity on their highest of bars. Success to me nowadays would to graduate from high school and college and grow up to be a surgeon or a vet. Have a nice home surrounded by green space. Successful people to me are the people who are happy even though they may not have much, as long as they are happy they are successful.

Let me state my biases. I think that the planned total murder of a people was an unprecedented catastrophe in human civilization. It happened because it could happen; if it could not have happened, it would not have done so. And because it happened once, it can happen again. Any historical event is a possibility before it becomes a fact, but when it becomes a fact, it also serves as a possible precedent. And although no event will ever be repeated exactly, it will, if it is followed by similar events, become the first in a line of analogous happenings. The Holocaust can be a precedent, or it can become a warning. My bias is, in a sense, political: I believe we ought to do everything in our power to make sure it is a warning, not a precedent. - Rethinking the Holocaust By YEHUDA BAUER Yale University Press
This is what I think about Yehuda’s Bias article, I totally agree with her, it happened because it could, although I do think that it was possible because the German government acted too late and couldn't stop the Nazis at the right time. This article is bias because, well, in the first sentence it says “I think” which proves that it is an opinion. The article explains what it thinks about the holocaust so this is why I think that this article is bias.
