A powerful, modern statutory compliance tool. Lloyd’s Register (LR) data, digital and software solutions help you to design and operate safe, efficient assets and make informed decisions. The latest addition to our portfolio is LR SEASAFE, a leading loading and stability software package, which we acquired in 2016 having utilised the software in LR for many years. LR SEASAFE provides powerful, modern statutory compliance tools for design, operation and cargo planning. It enables you to verify the stability,
longitudinal strength and other naval architectural aspects of all vessel types from passenger ships, heavy-lift vessels and FPSOs to offshore structures, semi-submersibles and jack-up rigs. The software is available as three products (LR SEASAFE Professional, LR SEASAFE Onboard and LR SEASAFE Fleet), making it suitable for use by designers and builders, consultants, shipowners, ship officers and fleet operators. It can also be fully customised to meet different users’ precise requirements.

The LR SEASAFE system is built on the experience and strength of pioneering naval architecture software products, such as SIKOB, PLF, GStab. Our applications provide you with accurate and repeatable calculations, both on board and ashore, and since this technology is also used by major classification societies and naval authorities for statutory compliance checks, you can be confident in the robustness of the results. LR SEASAFE Professional integrates seamlessly with leading naval architecture and design packages.
As a specialist support tool, it ensures your designs comply with IMO and national regulations, and enables you to produce statutory trim and stability (T&S) booklets in a matter of days rather than months. LR SEASAFE Onboard has IACS members’ general approval as a IACS UR L5 Type 3 loading computer, enabling you to comply with the recent SOLAS loading instrument regulations that came into force on 1 January 2016 for existing vessels. LR SEASAFE Onboard is already compliant with the forthcoming ‘Type 4’ regulations, ensuring you have a solution both now and in the future.

With its sleek, intuitive design, it rapidly becomes a familiar environment, and allows you to gain mastery and confidence quickly. We always use the latest Windows technology, the software is ribbon based for ease of use and has all the possibilities at the click of a mouse. It’s also easy to learn, reducing training time and costs and enabling you to get up and running faster than with other competing systems. We use a hands-on training methodology based on real-world examples, including your own assets, so your team learns how to use and apply the data to your types of project. The software is also easily updated to the most up-to-date models whilst connected to the internet. Our customisable systems let you select the features you need to create the perfect bespoke package
for your business needs. If we don’t have a specific feature you require, our agility means we can implement changes quickly and easily. In the offshore sector, examples of such features include nomograms (which allow leg loads for different environmental parameters such as wind speed, sea current and water depth), penetrationversus-leg-reaction diagrams, deck load management for jack-up rigs and crane operations (including dual-lift for heavy-lift vessels), a loading/discharging sequence planner and connected/disconnected modes on FPSOs.

Integrating rapid and accurate 3D modelling for all vessel types and offshore structures. LR SEASAFE Professional is a fully integrated CADtype, graphics-driven naval architectural calculations package specifically created for the designer, naval architect consultant and shipbuilder. It helps you rapidly develop a 3D vessel model of the ship’s hull and compartments, from which you can run accurate, consistent and repeatable stability and longitudinal strength calculations. The hull model can include rudders, propellers, a superstructure and other elements; in addition, offshore structures such as jack-up and semisubmersible rigs can be rapidly defined using advanced parametric shapes. For offshore structures, you can also create a 3D wind model, suitable for stability analyses of any wind direction, and produce 360° stability results, such as intact and damagelimiting KG/GM curves of stability. All standard intact and damage stability criteria are predefined; you can add specific information, such as unprotected or weather-tight openings, loadable
areas and devices like cranes and hatches, depending on the calculations required for an individual vessel. You can also import a 3D model defined in one of the standard 3D formats, such as DXF, IGES, STEP, GHS etc., via the SEASAFE plug-in for the Rhino3d versions 4 and 5 modelling software. The software allows detailed intact and damage stability analyses for any loading condition against all current regulations, including IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL and national regulations such as NMD. It also produces longitudinal strength, grounding, oil outflow and other safety-critical operational calculations.
The software is fully flexible allowing specific user preferences to be set up and saved. It also supports the use of systems of measurement in common use such as International Systems of Units (SI) and United States customary units (USCS or USC) and is also capable of being used with any reference system. The professional software has other beneficial features such as auto-generation of damage cases, you can import offset tables for creating the hull, calculations are done in the background and displayed instantly giving the user a fully interactive experience.
LR SEASAFE Professional is user-friendly and accessible, with well-organised, context-sensitive menus and other graphical controls presented directly on screen. Its reporting function enables you to produce T&S booklets and Marine Operations Manuals directly from the software, in a range of pre-set industry-standard formats and file types, and in a matter of days rather than weeks or months.

Making digital connections between assets and the shore for improved operational efficiency. LR SEASAFE Fleet is a development of the LR SEASAFE Onboard package, and is specifically aimed at cargo planners and managers onshore. Using the same core software engine enables you to exchange data and loading conditions between the vessel and the office.
All your vessel models will be incorporated into one LR SEASAFE Fleet installation. Thereby giving the office user access to all the LR SEASAFE models within the fleet. It can also be integrated to your data management systems in the office so the information and calculations are readily and easily accessible.
You can also obtain historical or current loading on board data, allowing faster decision making, also in response to charterer enquiries.
