IN A SETTING THIS NATURAL, YOU’LL BE BIG ON LITTLE ROCK.
Pinnacle Mountain State ParkHere in Little Rock, we know that everyone has different things they’re looking for in a meetings destination. But if you’re looking for a place that offers the perfect combination of accessibility, walkability, and affordability, you won’t find a warmer welcome anywhere. Here’s what you can expect:
A THRIVING, GROWING CITY
Your attendees are sure to enjoy the Little Rock experience. Our city of more than 200,000, with a metro population of nearly 750,000, mixes classic Southern hospitality with just the right amount of hipness. A walkable downtown is the starting point. Attendees can spill out of meetings and discover plenty of fun things to see and do, including impressive cultural landmarks like the Clinton Presidential Library and the Old State House Museum, along with abundant nightlife, vibrant arts, a dynamic dining scene, and more. Add it all up and it’s no wonder we’re one of the more celebrated mid-sized cities in the U.S.
OUR VENUES
Little Rock is a big meetings city, and we have an array of versatile venues sure to meet any planner’s needs. The Statehouse Convention Center, in the heart of downtown on the Arkansas River, offers 220,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space and is adjoined by the Little Rock Marriott. If you’re looking for something truly unique, the recently renovated Robinson Center — the premier performing arts venue in Arkansas — is a can’t-miss. It includes 25,000 square feet of meeting space and is connected to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Little Rock. Both of these premiere convention facilities are operated by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, making us a true “one-stop shop” for planning and coordinating every aspect of a successful event. Whatever your group’s size, whatever your budget, our meetings team can help you find venues both large and small that are perfectly suited to your needs.
AN IMPRESSIVE ARRAY OF PLACES TO STAY
With more than 7,200 hotel rooms overall, and 2,000 in the downtown convention district alone, Little Rock gives attendees ample choice in lodging. Roughly three dozen hotels are within a 10-minute drive of downtown, and many are walking distance from venues. All of the major hotel brand flags are represented, and our two most prominent meeting venues are physically attached to prime hotels. Meeting-goers will like our reasonable room rates. In the meetings game, affordability means increased attendance. From hip and funky to grand and elegant, you’re sure to find a hotel that meets your needs.
CONVENIENT ACCESS
It’s not just easy to get here. It’s really easy to get here. The Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, which serves more than 2.2 million passengers a year, offers a hassle-free in-and-out experience. And since the airport is an easy 10-minute ride into downtown, your attendees won’t start or end their meeting experience in a traffic jam. Located in the mid-South, Little Rock is an enticing drive market, too, with Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Kansas City, Nashville, Memphis, Indianapolis and dozens of smaller markets within easy driving distance. Interstates 30 and 40 converge in Little Rock making it easily accessible by vehicle. And for those opting for a scenic route through The Natural State, your attendees
can even get here by rail via Amtrak.
GET MORE FOR LESS
Little Rock is a growing city that has retained many small-town characteristics — and a big one is value. Dozens of hotels offer real bang for the buck, be it a quaint historic property downtown or large ones that fly the flags of familiar brands. Parking fees are reasonable, and the Rock Region METRO Streetcar that gets you around downtown is free to ride. Meeting venues extend reasonable rental fees and are willing to work with planners to meet budgets. Attendees won’t get sticker shock when dinner checks arrive, either; in fact, they’re more apt to break into a surprised smile.
A FULL MENU OF CULINARY CHOICES
Little Rock is one of those American cities whose culinary scene is bigger than its actual size. The ever-growing foodscape mashes up Southern classics, soul food and barbecue with fine dining, chef-driven innovation, a broad spectrum of ethnic eateries, down-to-earth diners, sports bars and more. A lot of places feature patios or decks for outdoor dining. Here’s what our restaurants have in common — they turn out delicious dishes and provide friendly and efficient service. Attendees will be excited, and sated, when they explore Little Rock’s exemplary food scene.
CRAFTY DRINKING AND NIGHTLIFE
For many meeting attendees, a night on the town is part of the fun. Fortunately, planners will be comfortable knowing that they can deliver in Little Rock. The River Market Entertainment District — hopping with bars, restaurants and live music — allows patrons 21-plus to carry beverages in cups in public spaces and from place to place. The city is in the thick of the craft beer scene with microbreweries, ranging from family-friendly to hipster hangouts. For meeting-goers who like a little bit more bite in their libations, there’s Rock Town Distillery, where they can sample handcrafted spirits. The city offers a variety of live music, from country to cutting-edge rock, as well as DJ-driven dance clubs.
JUST MINUTES AWAY FROM OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
Arkansas’s nickname is The Natural State, so it’s only natural that meeting attendees might want to take advantage. They’ll be just minutes away from outdoor adventure at Pinnacle Mountain State Park to the west, and the delta to the east. Big Dam Bridge, just six miles west of downtown, is, at eight-tenths of a mile, the longest pedestrian and bicycle intended bridge in North America. It’s never been used by cars or trains, and connects 70,000 acres of parkland. Countless places provide terrific opportunities for hiking, biking, paddling, rock climbing, and more. Golf? Check. Attendees can swing away. For a more leisurely outing, Little Rock has more than 60 city parks and 1,200 miles of cycling trails. A number of vendors can provide gear and help organize group outings, too — perfect for team building activities!

Get to Know Little Rock’s Convention District
Little Rock’s Downtown Convention District conveniently connects the vibrant scene of Downtown Little Rock with our hotels and meeting spaces. The Convention District borders the Arkansas River and includes our two primary meeting venues, along with several hotels, cultural landmarks, eclectic dining, entertainment, and plenty of green space. This is Little Rock’s epicenter of business and fun, and it allows you to plan a meeting that will let attendees experience virtually everything within convenient walking distance.
The District is headlined by two first-rate venues, both of which have full-service hotels attached: The Statehouse Convention Center, which features 220,000 square feet of highly flexible meeting space; and the adjoining 418-room Little Rock Marriott, which itself offers 44,000 square feet of meeting area.
A short walk away is Robinson Center, a building that dates back to 1939 and was reopened in 2016 after a $70 million, top-to-bottom makeover. The venue has 25,000 square feet of elegant meeting space and a 2,222-seat premier performing arts theatre. The adjoining DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Little Rock, with 288 keys, recently completed its own multi-million-dollar renovation and contains 15,000 square feet of meeting space.
Both of these exceptional convention venues are operated by Little Rock’s Convention & Visitors Bureau, which makes the LRCVB a true “one-stop shop” for anyone looking to plan a memorable convention or event. Even better, these facilities and hotels are only part of Little Rock’s entire convention district, which also includes The River Market. This hip, vibrant section of downtown Little Rock is where visitors and locals alike go to dine out, share a drink, and shop. You’ll find live music, dance clubs, and more – and you can even carry adult beverages from one place to another.
Within the District, meeting-goers have quick access to such must-see attractions as the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum, the Old State House Museum, the Historic Arkansas Museum, the Museum of Discovery and several others. Many of these are within walking distance of the Convention Center and can be reserved for special events.
The Convention District’s vast expanse of waterfront green space is anchored by Riverfront Park, and includes the Arkansas River Trail, the unforgettable Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden, the First Security Amphitheater and other pavilions.
The Rock Region METRO Streetcar is available for attendees who want to get off their feet or just take a scenic ride to learn more about our city. Each streetcar is operated by a friendly conductor/tour guide, includes 10 stops in the District, and can take visitors across the Main Street Bridge into North Little Rock.
Bottom line? The Little Rock Downtown Convention District provides you and your attendees with everything you need in a condensed, easy-to-navigate area that never feels crowded or unfamiliar.

Things to do SITES AND ATTRACTIONS
ARTS
Little Rock has one of the most robust arts scenes in the mid-South. Visitors can purchase an original piece in a gallery or view works in several museums. At the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts , you can get lost in pieces by Rembrandt, Picasso, Degas, Wyeth, and a smorgasbord of 20 th Century artists. CULTURE
It’s virtually impossible to narrow down Little Rock’s endless cultural offerings to a few sites, but here’s a handful of essentials that planners will want to consider. The H.U. Lee International Gate and Garden, a leafy oasis near the downtown waterfront, pays tribute to Taekwondo grandmaster Haeng Ung Lee. Over at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the Sequoyah National Research Center preserves the writing and art of Native Americans. It’s hailed as the largest collection of Native American expression in the world. An interesting side trip for groups or individuals lies 17 miles southeast of downtown at the Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park , a National Historic Landmark that contains Arkansas’s tallest American Indian mounds.

CIVIL RIGHTS
In 1957, Little Rock was the epicenter of civil rights unrest when Governor Orval Faubus defied federal law and vowed to block nine Black students — known as the Little Rock Nine — from entering Central High School. President Dwight Eisenhower dispatched federal troops to ensure their admission. The scene shined a national spotlight on racism and ultimately led to progress in the civil rights movement. Several monuments note Little Rock’s place in civil rights history. Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site — a Top Ten stop on the U.S. Civil Rights Trail — is still an active high school and includes a visitor center that tells the story of the Little Rock Nine through interactive exhibits. Further commemorating the group of pioneering Black students is a striking
statue called Testament: The Little Rock Nine Monument, which faces the governor’s office at the Arkansas State Capitol. The Arkansas Civil Rights Heritage Trail is an ever-growing collection of sites that honors freedom riders, sit-in organizers and other contributors to desegregation. The trail starts outside the Old State House Museum and will eventually stretch to the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum
HISTORY
Named after a stone outcropping on the bank of the Arkansas River that was used centuries ago as a travel landmark, Little Rock was incorporated in 1831. As a result, our city is proud to showcase its rich and abundant history. Among countless sites, markers and milestones that exist through Little Rock, several can be considered must-see sites for visitors. The William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum honors our 42nd president with a museum and library that offers a sweeping view of the Bill Clinton administration and the era in which it happened.
The Old State House Museum is the oldest standing state capitol building west of the Mississippi River, and it served as the center of state government from 1836 to 1911. During the Civil War, Confederate and Union troops alternately occupied it. The Greek Revival building beautifully chronicles the rich history of Arkansas.
The Arkansas State Capitol was built more than a century ago. Neoclassical in style, it’s a grand structure both inside and out, and should not be missed. These three landmarks are situated downtown within a few miles of each other.
EDUCATION
Little Rock’s educational attractions are plentiful, and three pillars sit within a mile of each other downtown. Located in the River Market District, the Museum of Discovery at the Donald W. Reynolds Science Center, which dates back to 1927, is a premier science, technology, engineering and mathematics center. In between, along the Arkansas River Trail in the River Market District, is the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center. It focuses on the recreational aspects of the state’s fish and wildlife, and features live animals and interactive exhibits.
Just four miles to the west, attendees can enjoy the Little Rock Zoo. Dating back to 1926 with just two animals, the attraction now houses 725 animals representing more than 200 species, and includes special events, educational and conservation programs.
MILITARY HISTORY
Military enthusiasts will find plenty to like in Little Rock. Legendary WWII General Douglas MacArthur is one of the city’s favorite sons. He and his pipe are well represented at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, which chronicles the state’s military heritage from the territorial period to the present. The facility sits in lush, expansive MacArthur Park downtown.
The Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial near the Arkansas State Capitol downtown, honors Arkansans who served in the war and includes a wall inscribed with the names of those who lost their lives. Perhaps the most distinctive of our military landmarks is the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum . Even though the nearest coastline is at the Gulf of Mexico 400 miles south, this superb attraction is home to the USS Hoga tugboat that was instrumental at Pearl Harbor, and the USS Razorback submarine that was present at the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay. It is the only intercontinental museum to house both bookends of World War II.

Head a few miles in any direction from downtown Little Rock and your attendees will encounter beautiful natural scenery. For meeting planners looking to factor in outdoor activities, it’s best to follow the Arkansas River northwest, where several delightful places await. Less than seven miles upriver is our aptly named Big Dam Bridge , a 4,226 ft. span built atop Murray Lock and Dam that makes up North America’s longest pedestrian- and bicycle-intended bridge. Just a few miles farther upriver is the picturesque, 1,000-acre Two Rivers Park , which includes hiking and biking trails, kayak rentals, a pedestrian bridge, and other amenities. Proceed another six miles to Pinnacle Mountain State Park , regarded as one the prettiest spots in the state. A hike to the peak of the mountain, roughly a thousand feet above the Arkansas

ENTERTAINMENT BREWERIES/WINERIES/
DISTILLERY
Like most thriving cities, Little Rock boasts a flowing craft beer, wine and spirits scene. Several breweries are clustered within a convenient distance of the downtown Convention District. They’re joined by Rock Town Distillery, the first legal distillery in Arkansas since Prohibition. Founded in 2010 and a true grain-toglass operation, Rock Town makes its wide assortment of spirits from corn, wheat, and rye all sourced within 125 miles of its downtown Little Rock location. The tasting room is an ideal place to gather for their hand-crafted cocktails. Our city’s roll call of breweries includes Stone’s Throw Brewing (with two locations), Lost Forty Brewing , Vino’s Brewpub and others. To the west, you’ll find River Bottom Winery at BoBrook Farms and An Enchanting Evening , two wineries each nestled in their own picturesque setting.
RIVERFRONT
The Arkansas River winds through Little Rock, and along its banks downtown is where the city really hums. Besides being home to the main meeting venues, the area includes the River Market District, a contained area packed with dining, nightlife, and entertainment. Right along the water is the memorable Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden , a serene getaway that includes more than 80 public artworks. La Petite Roche Plaza is the site of the actual “little rock” outcropping discovered in 1722.
Two pedestrian bridges are part of Little Rock’s Six Bridges skyline, both of which connect the downtown waterfront to North Little Rock. The Clinton Presidential Park Bridge was built in 1899 as the Rock Island Railroad Bridge and The Junction Bridge , a few blocks west, has been a waterfront fixture for more than a century. These are given extra life after dark when they illuminate downtown with thousands of colorful LED lights.
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
Little Rock has a wide range of venues for live entertainment, from unique rock clubs to the 2,222-seat Robinson Center, the finest performing arts hall in the state. It’s the host venue for the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra , which performs more than 30 concerts there each year, Ballet Arkansas , as well as the Broadway Theater series. Planners take note: the Arkansas Repertory Theatre offers a year-round season. For something smaller, consider Movie Tavern Little Rock , which shows first-run movies and offers intheater dining service, a chef-driven menu and luxurious seating. For big events, North Little Rock boasts 18,000-seat Simmons Bank Arena , a favored venue for major sports events and big concert tours.
DINING
Whether it’s a multi-course, white-tablecloth meal for a big group or a quick bite from a food truck between sessions, Little Rock’s culinary menu has you and your attendees covered. The city’s foodscape includes innovative chef-driven concepts; a full array of ethnic eateries; classic American; and, fittingly, lots of authentic barbecue and soul food. Pizza lovers have plenty to choose from as well. Little Rock is made up of a series of distinctive neighborhoods — River Market, SoMa , East Village , the Heights , Hillcrest, Riverdale , et al — each having its own cluster of independently owned restaurants. The city’s dining scene literally leaves visitors with a tasty satisfaction.
SHOPPING
Little Rock is a city that blends down-home charm with uptown chic, and that’s reflected in our shopping scene. Downtown and its surrounding neighborhoods contain an array of distinctive independent stores. These boutiques offer everything from hauté couture to hip-and-trendy outfits. Several high-end clothing shops sell bespoke, made-tomeasure, and premium brand clothes. Our bounty of gift shops brims with delightful products that range from classic to trendy to whimsical. Specialty stores sell jewelry, organic spices and teas, modern lifestyle products, fragrances, furniture, and more. Several galleries showcase original art. For those hunting deals on top consumer brands, the vast Outlets of Little Rock , the only mall of its kind in Arkansas, is just 12 miles southwest of the Convention District.
River Market District
Meeting-goers can see the sights, soak up history and culture, and be entertained by Little Rock’s tour offerings. A splendid way to get the lay of the land is a ride on the Rock Region METRO Streetcar, which takes visitors through downtown and into North Little Rock. The Arkansas Civil Rights History Tour features 35 sites through diverse neighborhoods and documents the struggle for civil rights from the early 1800s to the present. Our Political History Audio Tour encompasses 23 locations throughout downtown that cover the people and places that shaped the state of Arkansas. For outdoor fun, Rock Town River Outfitters rents bikes and kayaks and offers
guided tours. Be sure to check out our self-guided tours that showcase the city.

A more versatile, or beautiful, meeting venue is hard to imagine. The four-level Robinson Center, located in the heart of downtown Little Rock overlooks the Arkansas River, offers 18 dedicated meeting spaces, ranging in size from 600 square feet to the 7,135-square-foot William Grant Still Ballroom, which overlooks the river. The building is a sublime mixture of history and modernity.
Robinson Center is also the premier performing arts hall in Arkansas. It hosts an array of concerts and Broadway shows and is home to the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. It’s named for Joseph Taylor Robinson, who served as a U.S. Congressman, Senator and Governor of Arkansas, and was the Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee in the 1928 presidential election. He died two years before Robinson Center opened in 1939.
Over the years, the venue hosted every type of entertainment, including the first live recording of Elvis Presley’s Hound Dog in May 1956. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. The center closed in 2014 for a 28-month renovation, which might be better described as a re-imagination, one that transformed a beloved landmark into a state-of-the-art performance and meetings venue. The center re-opened in November 2016.
The building’s most striking feature is the stately pillars that greet visitors as they ascend the steps. The facade emits an unmistakable air of grandeur. Meeting attendees are sure to realize they are participating in something important.
Robinson Center’s interior, which was completely gutted and remodeled, preserved the building’s Art Deco roots. The building has been outfitted with up-to-date technology and boundless amenities, offering maximum flexibility and convenience. The space boasts LEED Gold certification.
Robinson Center is directly connected to the 287-room DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton and a 550-space parking garage. Attendees can enjoy the celebrated array of dining, culture and entertainment that’s within convenient walking distance of the venue.
Robinson Center is managed by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, which provides planners with a wealth of expertise and a nonunion professional staff that’s ready and willing to meet every need.

But at any other time of the year, this complex can host virtually any size and type of event, from a horse show to a black-tie gala. For planners who want to go big, there’s Barton Coliseum, which can seat 10,000 and has nearly 26,000 square feet of floor space. The similar-sized Hall of Industry is the fairgrounds’ most popular meeting facility.
Other buildings provide indoor and covered outdoor spaces, amounting to more than 120,000 square feet of event area. And because this is a state fair site, it has ties for nearly 500 cattle. The complex features paved and lighted parking to handle large crowds.
Best of all, your attendees won’t feel cut off from the action. The state fair complex is only three miles from downtown Little Rock and a short drive from Clinton National Airport.
