Us puzzlers can get pretty creative when it comes to getting that box lid to stand up just right for us. We preferably want it on a slight slant to avoid that nasty glare on the image. Very few puzzle companies will include a box-lidstand - if only they knew how helpful they are. So we ’ ve put together this little tutorial for you! Try this free puzzle box lid stand template. DIY (do it yourself) with step by step instructions.

Step 1: Print the downloadable 8.5" x 11" sheets. It fits puzzle box lids up to 12" x 16" . Step 2: Locate some thick cardboard sized at 8.5" x 11" sheets (not too thick - a sturdy large box of cereal works great). Step 3: Gather the following supplies. To see the list click on the box image below. Step 4: Place the Trace Template over desired cardboard and cut the Template including the slot (Be mindful of the slot. Use a sharp object to pierce the slot to start then use scissors to get an accurate cut. Cut the slit on the outside of lines to give the slot opening room for the thickness of box lids. Step 5: Use a tack to make perforated holes along the fold at dotted lines to the left and right as shown on the template. Make the holes about 1/2 an inch apart Step 6: Cut the Puzzle Pattern Template including the tabs as shown on the template. The tabs will be taped to the back of the cardboard template to hold it in place. Step 7: Color the Puzzle Pattern Template with your choice of art-markers. This image is used with crayons. DO NOT color the tabs. Step 8: Place the Puzzle Pattern Template over top of the cardboard

Trace Template and tape the Tabs to the back. Set puzzle box lids into the slot to get the perfect non-glare view for easier view of the image on the box.
