Welcome to a special screening of The Cost of Inheritance, a one-hour PBS documentary that explores the complex issue of reparations in the United States. Through personal narratives, community inquiries, and scholarly insights, it aims to inspire an understanding of the scope and rationale of the reparations debate.

Alford Young, Jr. is the associate director for the Center for Social Solutions, and is a University Diversity and Social Transformation Professor, Edgar G Epps Collegiate Professor of Sociology, Arthur F Thurnau Professor, Sociology, Afroamerican and African Studies, and Public Policy, and the Faculty Director, Anti-Racism Collaborative, National Center for Institutional Diversity, University of Michigan.

Darryl Ford Williams is the Executive Producer of the Cost of Inheritance. She is the former Vice President of Content for WQED Multimedia in Pittsburgh responsible for the creation, development, production and delivery of television, radio, interactive and educational programming for WQED Multimedia
Jasmine Simington
Panelist
Jasmine Simington is a joint doctoral candidate in Sociology and Public Policy at The University of Michigan. Her research research explores racial and spatial inequalities in housing. At the Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center at the Urban Institute, she studied federal housing policies, neighborhood quality, and residential mobility
Kamri Hudgins
Panelist
Kamri Hudgins is a doctoral candidate in Political Science at the University of Michigan. She also serves as a research analyst with LSA’s Center for Social Solutions. Her areas of focus include political psychology, public opinion, and race & ethnic politics
Specifically, her research examines how trauma influences Black political behavior
