Having acted as the Academic Activities Secretary for the Law Students’ Association of Sri Lanka (LSASL) for 2021/2022, my time being a part of the LSASL was indeed a fulfilling, and rewarding experience It played an important role in helping me acquire and enhance important academic and professional knowledge and skills needed for a law student. During my term, my members and I worked collaboratively to organize various publications, events, webinars, and workshops for law students These endeavours provided amazing opportunities to further develop and strengthen the knowledge and skills of law students within the country Through these endeavours, I was able to develop valuable skills in leadership, decision-making, teamwork, time management, communication, adaptability, project management, and organization It also helped me improve my overall knowledge and skills in legal writing, legal research, and legal referencing.

In addition to this, the LSASL also provided many law students, including myself, an opportunity to meet, network, and engage with other like-minded law students and legal professionals within the country and internationally through ALSA

It was a memorable and enjoyable experience that I immensely benefited from. It was truly an honor to have been a part of the National Council and I would definitely recommend the LSASL to other law students

For me, being a member of the LSASL and its Pro Bono Department was a truly rewarding experience. The department and our President, Zeenath Zakir sacrificed time, energy, and resources to come to the legal aid of the general public which was absolutely inspiring Each experience that I had the privilege of being a part of helped me grow into both a better law student and a person

As a former member of the Law Students Association of Sri Lanka, my experience was both enriching and transformative. Being part of this esteemed organization allowed me to engage with like-minded individuals who shared a passion for the legal field We worked collaboratively to organize various events, seminars, and workshops that aimed to enhance our understanding of the law and its application in society Through these endeavors, I developed valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, and public speaking. The association also provided opportunities for networking with legal professionals and experts, fostering mentorship relationships that continue to guide me in my career Overall, my time with the Law Students Association of Sri Lanka was a memorable and rewarding experience that shaped my growth as a law student and prepared me for the challenges ahead.

I really enjoyed being a self - volunteer for Law Students Association of Sri Lanka. I volunteered as the Programs Officer of Academic Activities Department for the year 2021 - 2022 The Department Secretary and the other team members were wonderful and the work was fascinating. I was able to refresh my previous knowledge of legal writing and there was always more to learn Apart from that, it was a great way to gain work experience, make valuable connections, give back to the community and build skills to boost your resume It was a privilege to be able to contribute

LSASL always was a mentor which drove me passionately towards legal advocacy and activism. Amongst all, we were truly blessed to engage with a learned community of legal personalities and law students, which bridged us across the country
